Gamescom, the world's largest consumer fair for video games, starts in Cologne on August 24th. Porsche will be there for the first time with an appearance. In a lounge with a modern design, the sports car manufacturer and the global sports brand Puma will focus on the partnership in the gaming sector. The centerpiece is the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo show car, which changes its look during the trade fair: the artist Vexx paints it live – in his typical street art style. The vehicle is the first concept study by Porsche that was specially developed for use in a computer game. The world premiere took place in November 2021; since March 2022, the vehicle can be experienced exclusively in the new Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 4 and 5. The Belgian-based artist Vexx is one of the world's best-known visual artists on social media and stands for modern and young design. He will document the redesign of the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo on his social media channels.

A gaming area also awaits visitors to the Porsche and Puma stands. There they can test their skills on virtual tracks in Porsche racing simulators. The Porsche Vision Gran Turismo designed by Vexx will also be drivable in the Gran Turismo 7 game at the time of the fair. There is also the opportunity to learn more about the history and design process of the show car. A lounge corner invites you to linger. In addition, Vexx is exhibiting some of its current NFT works.
“Porsche has steadily expanded its commitment to the gaming and esports community in recent years – our appearance at Gamescom underscores that,” says Robert Ader, Head of Marketing at Porsche AG. “We have reached an important milestone with the Vision Gran Turismo as the first sports car developed purely for virtual space. The painting by Vexx gives the vehicle a completely new look. We also want to show our enthusiasm for collaborations with creative people and the art scene, which we see as mutual enrichment.”
"For me as an artist, it was a unique opportunity to create a completely new design for Porsche," says Vexx. “The look picks up both the brand identity of Porsche and gaming themes. I am delighted that the gaming community can now also drive the vehicle virtually – this makes my graphics come alive and touchable.”
Accompanying the vehicle, Porsche and Puma are presenting a fashion collection designed by Vexx. It consists of sneakers, t-shirts and hoodies, among other things. The dresses feature the silhouette of the painted vehicle as a recurring design feature, as well as other gaming motifs in the artist's usual colorful style. At the same time, the newly designed Porsche Vision Gran Turismo Vexx will be available as a 1:18 model car in the Porsche Shop.
