In honor of the 100th anniversary of the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, Porsche has launched the exclusive 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition presented. Inspired by the victorious Porsche cars - the 356 SL and the 911 GT1 '98 - a fascinating "gentleman driver" sports car has been created that celebrates Porsche's historic motorsport heritage. The vehicle is an impressive homage to Porsche's impressive history on the legendary Sarthe circuit and will exclusively offered on the French market.

Under the hood: Typical Porsche performance
The Le Mans Centenaire Edition is based on that 911 Carrera GTS and is equipped with a 353 kW (480 hp) supercharged six-cylinder boxer engine which, in combination with the standard performance chassis, offers impressive performance. Customers can choose between a 7-speed manual and an 8-speed PDK transmission, depending entirely on individual driving style.
A homage to the long-distance classic: design highlights of the 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition
The concept of the 2020 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition has been in development since 911, with numerous design details developed specifically for this 911. Special reminders of the long-distance classic are a badge with the "24h Le Mans" logo and laurel wreath on the trunk lid grille as well as a high quality plaque with the Le Mans race track and the anniversary lettering on the B-pillar. A special eye-catcher is the Decorative foiling "Born in Le Mans, manufactured in Zuffenhausen' at the rear, which underscores the cross-regional cooperation. The interior design of the Centenaire Edition also contains numerous elements that celebrate the 24-hour race: those on the Center armrest The embossed racetrack, the "24h Le Mans" logo on the headrests and the model lettering on the sill make it clear that the vehicle has a special connection to the long-distance classic.
Painted in Le Mans Silver Metallic
The Centenaire Edition also has many design elements inspired by the Le Mans winning cars, the 356 SL (1951) and the 911 GT1 '98. The exterior colour, a special Le Mans silver metallic, is a modern take on the paint finish of the 356 SL, the first winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The car also has the starting number 46, just like the historic model. In the interior, the graphite blue leather and the cord together with the Full bucket seats reflects the interior of the historic racing car while the GT sports steering wheel is also made of graphite blue leather. Crayon colored accents provide an elegant contrast and feature on the instrument cluster dials SportChrono watch as well as the Decorative stitching a DAK Bungalow.
And also the 911 GT1 '98 served as a source of inspiration. The Rims of the edition model are painted in Aurum and have a line in Le Mans silver metallic. The side windows in the rear are also provided with decorative foils in black, which gives the impression of air outlets (louvers) like those of the winning race car. Red Racing Harnesses also reminiscent of the 911 GT1 '98. Last but not least, each buyer of the edition will receive an individual one Key case and a special one car cover in graphite blue for indoor use. With the 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition, Porsche offers a limited edition that pays homage to the brand's renowned past and exciting future in equal measure.
