High-speed luxury liner: POSAIDON RS 830+ Mercedes-AMG S 63

POSAIDON GmbH & Co. KG, based in Mülheim-Kärlich, is expanding its program to include the POSAIDON RS 830+ expansion stage. After this E63 S, the GT R, the AMG GT 4-door coupe or the GLS-SUV there is now also an 830+ variant of the Mercedes-AMG S 63 4MATIC + from the A 217 series (is based on the platform of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class series 222). And the upgrade is not even the highest level of Posaidon for the S63. Because already in 2018 the tuner for the VorFacelift luxury liner did that Posaidon S63 RS 850+ package presentedthat unbelievable 1.020 PS & 1.400 NM maximum torque (with Super Plus 98 octane) tickled from the 5461 cm³ M157DE55AL biturbo V8 installed up to then. The RS 830+ variant is now positioned between the highest level of expansion and the production vehicle and is based on the lifted variant with 4-liter V8 (M 177 DE 40 AL) and a series output of 612 PS & 900 NM.

And it could well be the last S-Class Cabriolet that POSAIDON refines. Because Mercedes has announced that the open-air racing car will soon expire without a successor. What a pity! But we come to the performance improvement by the performance specialists from POSAIDON. They neatly buttoned up the V8 engine of the AMG S 63 4MATIC + and gave it the complete upgrade from the E63 S T model linked at the beginning. In the S63 Cabrio, too, the OEM turbocharger is replaced by two new ball-bearing compressors, and here too the tuner installs new downpipes with sports catalysts and a special sports air filter. The new components are combined with individual chip tuning and the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed automatic and the drive train of the S63 have also been adapted to the extra power in view of the enormous torque.

The result is powerful 880 hp and 1.200 Nm torque, which, in contrast to the E63, can even be enjoyed openly. Equipped in this way, the luxury-class cabriolet accelerates from a standing start to highway speed in just 3,1 seconds (standard: 3,5 s) and, due to the lifting of the Vmax limitation, over 350 km / h is also no problem. And, as already mentioned, even OPEN on request! And as for the E63s, there is even another expansion stage available. Namely the variant Posaidon RS 830 with a performance increase to 830 hp and 1.100 Nm torque. By the way, you optically hold back on the elegant photo vehicle.
