For the current Mercedes-AMG SL generation from Type R 232 has the team of Renntech currently presented a performance increase. At the moment, however, this only seems to be available for the top model of the roadster, the SL 63 4MATIC. There is a high probability that another kit will follow in the course of the year for the 381 PS & 480 NM SL 43 and the 476 PS & 700 NM SL 55 4MATIC. Loud Renntech one achieves the additional performance by means of Chip Tuning Box and not by means of software installed on the engine control unit. The box changes the throttle valve mapping, the ignition timing and also adjusts the air-fuel ratio. Renntech says the system can be restored to stock at any time. The box ensures a leap in performance 731 PS and 1.014 Nm torque and thus the AMG SL mutates into a super sports car.

Compared to the series with 585 PS & 800 Nm, that means Renntech- Serve full 146 PS & 214 NM More efficient. However, the measured vehicle already had severe 634 PS & 923 NM standard output. This means that the factory acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h should no longer take the specified 3,6 seconds, but we expect the SL to be in the range of 3,2 seconds. However, the top speed of 315 km/h will most likely not change the box. The US price for the upgrade is $3.840 (plus tax). This is further in the range RENNtech EVM | Exhaust valve modules for controlling the exhaust flaps. If we get more information, there is of course an update for this report.
