Hard to believe but this vehicle has actually undergone extensive tuning. And with components from the current time which ensures that this Acura SLX (identical to the Isuzu Trooper, the Opel Monterey or the Isuzu Bighorn) to the real one Restomod Project advances. The vehicle itself was rebuilt and restored directly by Acura and is officially called a project "RADwood - Super Handling SLX". The old 3.2-liter V6 with 24 valves and 190 hp is no longer working under the hood, but instead the current 2-liter engine from the Acura RDX Air Intake System, new turbos and a chip tuning on stately 350 PS & 460 NM was pressed. In addition to the engine, there was also the 10-speed automatic and the so-called "Super Handling All-Wheel Drive ™" system of the fourth generation that with the settings Snow, comfort, sports and Sport + probably brings the right setup for everyone.

And of course, the suspension has also been adapted to the new components. Installed are MacPherson struts and double wishbones front and rear, there was a five-link rear suspension and coil springs. The factory 16 models have been replaced by 17 x 7,5 inch large Fifteen52 Tarmac Alus which are equipped with Yokohama Geloander A / T GO15 tires in 245 / 65 R17 format. Incidentally, the changes to the chassis result in a changed track width. At the front it went from 59,6 inches (about 151 cm) to 64,4 inches (about 164 cm) and at the back it widened from 59,8 inches (about 152 cm) to 65,1 inches (about 165 cm). But apart from the new wheelset and the small "SH-AWD" lettering at the rear probably only the absolute connoisseur could make a difference to a well maintained original vehicle.

And even in the cabin, this is not immediately apparent. The interior shows a completely new leather interior in Milano gray, there was a leather upholstered Sport steering wheel along with paddles and the most striking feature is probably the unlovingly installed digital instrument cluster directly in front of the factory tachometer unit. In view of many small details such as the start / stop technology, the electric parking brake, the fine wood applications and the BerberDeep pile overmats but certainly to get over Lloyd Mats. The Performance Red Pearl and Champaign Silver By the way, the painted single piece can be seen at the RADwood Car Show tomorrow (7 December) in Orange County, California.
