After a long time there is news from the British rally specialists from Prodrive. The tuner apparently plans to use an old one Subaru Impreza WRX STi in the form of one Continuation Car to be revived as a small series. The motorsport specialists at Prodrive have driven the Impreza WRX STi in the World Rally Championship for a number of decades. That P stands for Prodrive and the 25 indicates an anniversary. Because 25 years after the first Subaru Impreza World Rally Car (WRC) made its victorious debut on stages of the World Rally Championship, the Prodrive P25 recaptures the essence of the model. And he will 22B inspired. Using modern technology, however, the P25 is clear more powerful, he is easier and he shall one better handling bring along. He is driven by one 2,5 liter boxer engine with more than 400 PS and switched by means of semi-automatic 6-speed manual transmission with shift paddles. Peter Stevens, who designed the old Impreza WRC for Prodrive, has them optics further refined while the Mechanical Design was overseen by Prodrive Technical Director David Lapworth, who was also responsible for the old Impreza WRC. Incidentally, the P25 is the brainchild of Prodrive boss David Richards. He said: "The old 22B Impreza is considered the most iconic and highly sought after. We wanted to improve on everything that made the car so special back then, using the latest technology to create our own modern interpretation of a vehicle that deserves a place in automotive history.The Prodrive P25 will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June. Prodrive is accepting expressions of interest and the first of the 25 vehicles will be delivered to customers later this year.
