With every generation of the BMW 3 Series there is a certain clientele that is annoyed that the Touring is simply not available as an “M” variant. I am one of them ... BMW certainly analyzes this anew with every model generation, but apparently keeps coming back to the funnel that the whole thing is not worth it. 😣 We'd love to have a counterpart to the C63 AMG T-model or the RS4 Avant from Munich! The Manhart Performance team answered this request a few years ago and built the 5,0-liter S85 V10 from the M5 / M6 of the E60 / E63 model generation into the 3 Series Touring to order. Actually, the logical consequence would have been the 4,0-liter V8 from the E92 M3, but Manhart just wanted to nail it down. The following video shows you exactly such a conversion whose V10 engine, after optimizing the engine electronics and a stainless steel welded four-pipe exhaust system, with two 200-cell racing catalysts, now even sends a hefty 550 hp to the rear wheels. The 5-speed SMG transmission and the associated 7 percent differential lock also come from the M100. As expected, the performance data of the family station wagon are phenomenal.

It goes to 4,3 km / h in 100 seconds and with a top speed of over 320 km / h, the Manhart E91 cannot keep up with a standard BMW Touring. Even the brand new one Facelift Alpina B3 S or even the big brother, in the form of the Alpina B5 G31, should have his dear need. A special highlight of this vehicle is the fact that the look has also been completely trimmed to M3. That means the front and rear bumpers, the bonnet with power domes and air intakes, the exterior mirrors, or the sports exhaust system match the look of the E92 M3. And the interior has also been completely adapted and so, from high-quality BMW M Performance bucket seats to the speedometer unit, all the details that characterize an M3 are available. Probably the biggest plus point in my eyes is the fact that there is no supercharged engine but the V10 is a pure suction monster of the highest engineering skill.
