Video: That should not be! Audi S3 is slower than a BMW 228i

Reading time <1 Min.

A suitable opponent for the Audi S3 should actually be the BMW M235i, and for the Audi RS3 it should therefore be the upcoming BMW M2. In this drag race, however, the Audi S3 “only” has to compete with the production model BMW 228i with 245PS and 350NM torque. Do you think "clear thing" now?

Actually yes, because the Audi trumps with 300PS and a strong 380NM torque. In addition, the S3 all-wheel drive has to leave the Ingolstadt clearly ahead, especially from the start. Audi specifies the sprint from 0-100km / h with 5,1 seconds, while BMW claims that your 228i rushes to 5,7 km / h in 100 seconds. But the video teaches us better, Audi apparently knows very well about the existing turbo lag of the S3 and gives the hint. that the 5,1 seconds (the best test in the video only brought about 5,5 seconds) can only be achieved with the lounch control. Without lounch control he only sees the rear lights of the BMW. A comparison against the M235i can certainly be given.

While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
