Somewhere in Florida there is a company by name East Coast Defender (ECD Automotive Design)! The guys have made it their business to turn almost every Land Rover Defender into a unique piece, if the customer and the wallet want it. And we would like to introduce you to one of them. This is a Defender that was created under the project name "Project Viper". However, even if the name suggests, there is no 8,4l V10 engine but an LS3 with at least 6,2l & 430 PS. You shouldn't forget that you are sitting in a Land Rover Defender and not in a converted Corvette or something similar. In addition to the complex engine conversion, there is a whole lot more that makes this Defender unique.

In general, the Defender was redesigned from scratch and not just simply provided with a new engine. For example, there are 20 inch aluminum wheels with Nitto Mud Grappler off-road tires that have plenty of room in the wheel arch thanks to a raised position and even have a view of a Wilwood brake system. The Defender is now 2 inches higher and thanks to him Old Man Emu feathers combined with King Off-Road Racing shock absorbers. Electronically controlled locking differentials from KAM and a modern six-speed automatic transmission were installed to ensure that the extreme performance is also on the road. And visually, no stone was left unturned. The front is adorned with a bumpers reduced to the essentials, including a WARN winch, underride protection and large ram protection, and the radiator grille is new.
Furthermore, the Defender got massive panels for the headlights in front so that the lenses are not destroyed on the first contact with an obstacle. A roof rack including additional lights and a lot of modifications for the cargo area are also included. And the interior has also been completely redesigned and shines with an all-round leather cover, high-quality GTB seats and a new sound system. The interior is a little reminiscent of the building's renovations Kahn design as we find. Definitely a spectacular project that has only one catch: a price of 285.000 $! If we get more information about the modifications, there will of course, as always, be an update for this report. It is best to subscribe to our feed and if there is something new you will be informed immediately. We hope you enjoy looking at the pictures.

6,2-liter LS3 V8 with 430 PS
Update
News from 28.06.2017
The guys from ECD Automotive Design also equipped a short version of the Defender with the 6,2-liter Chevrolet LS3 V8 engine and presented it in a short video. This copy also develops 430 hp and is coupled with a T56 six-speed manual transmission. The acceleration from 0 to 60 miles per hour (96 km / h) should be possible in less than six seconds and the whole thing is underpinned by a perfect V8 sound from a Borla sports exhaust system. Further features are an LSD differential, many elements made of stainless steel, a Kenwood infotainment system with JBL loudspeakers & subwoofer, full LED headlights at the front, an enviable leather interior with beige leather and black stitching, a non-slip MOMO sports steering wheel, glossy black 18-inch - Alloy rims with BF Goodrich tires and a paint job in Porsche dark olive metallic. The tuner is currently charging $ 159.000 for this vehicle.
Maybe there will soon be an update with information and pictures. If this is the case we will of course also put it online and inform you about it.
