GTI is GTi and remains GTi! A judgment that not only applies to the Golf, but also to the new VW Polo (VI 2G). In order not to make it too complicated, the sports and fun department at VW simply took the 2.0 TSFI turbo four-cylinder (VW EA888) from the Golf GTi, throttled it to 200 hp and installed it in the Polo. Thanks to the lower curb weight of only 1293 kg, the Golf moves between 1364 - 1386 kg instead, the Polo accelerates to 6,7 km / h in just 100 seconds. It also reaches a top speed of a remarkable 237 km / h! Values that are already fun, but things get even better. Because the suspension specialists at H & R have now taken the VW Polo GTI to their chest to spice up the driving characteristics with special sport springs. The lowering of 35 mm is immediately visible and in vehicles with adaptive damper control it is again 20 mm (VA / HA). As a result, the Polo GTi not only looks sportier, but is now also a real cornering talent thanks to the optimal coordination with the layout of the chassis and the lowering of the vehicle's center of gravity.
The sport springs cause a more direct turn-in and significantly reduce the side tilt. As a result, the Polo, in combination with its low curb weight, provides enormous driving pleasure in fast corners, which feels almost like driving a kart. The Polo’s 320 NM torque are also happy about more grip on the front axle. If that's not enough, the H&R Trak + wheel spacers give you even more individuality. The track plates ensure that the standard or retrofit wheels are perfectly aligned with the outer edges of the fender. If you are also patient, you will soon find a height-adjustable coilover suspension and sport stabilizers. These components are currently still under development. All H&R products are 100 percent "Made in Germany" and always have the required parts certificate.
