With ViveLaCar ONE, a worldwide unique pilot for closed car sharing in the car subscription will start in September 2022 in the cities of Cologne and Bergisch Gladbach. A maximum of three households each share one vehicle. In this way, individual mobility is maintained and at the same time costs are reduced, resources are saved and parking spaces are saved. The scientific support of the pilot by the University of Applied Sciences and the Center of Automotive Management under the direction of Prof. Stefan Bratzel is intended to determine the effects on people, metropolises and rural areas. ViveLaCar ONE is gradually being rolled out in Germany and Europe.
Pilot project ViveLaCar ONE
With ViveLaCar ONE, the car subscription specialists from ViveLaCar offer a completely new solution for combining individual mobility with efforts to reduce the number of vehicles in public spaces. The advantages are obvious: Whoever shares the car with others saves a lot of time and money and makes a valuable contribution for everyone - because fewer cars means: more space to live and significantly less pollution for the environment as well as the conservation of resources!
ViveLaCar ONE is ideal for everyone who needs a car from time to time and is flexible at the same time. Among other things, the offer is perfect for neighbors, residential or office communities or as a second car with better use in rural areas. The costs are billed transparently and per kilometer for each subscriber. Access to the car and the management of car use are carried out digitally using an app. This is how sustainable mobility works without loss of comfort, because it is the familiar car, used by familiar people, so that, for example, a child seat can remain in the car if someone else is using it.
An offer that benefits everyone
Crowded streets and less and less parking space - this is a problem that many metropolises have to struggle with, including Cologne. More than half a million cars are currently registered here. If only 10 percent are used with ViveLaCar ONE, the stock in Cologne alone is reduced by up to 38.000 vehicles. This is a noticeable relief and reduces the space required for parking space by more than 400.000 square meters or 60 football pitches. In rural areas, on the other hand, ViveLaCar ONE makes it very easy for neighborhood initiatives, for example, to present an offer for economical individual mobility.
In view of the rising costs for one's own car, ViveLaCar ONE fits in with the times and makes the familiar car "three times more valuable". Because the concept combines the advantages of car subscription and car sharing to create an optimal combination of maximum flexibility, maximum comfort and at significantly lower costs.
It couldn't be more economical
The actual car costs are rising rapidly - not only due to the recent significant surcharges for energy, fuel and raw materials, but also due to higher parking fees. In addition, maintenance and servicing costs are often underestimated. With ViveLaCar ONE, driving is more economical than ever. Four different models and drives are already available at the start of the pilot. For example, the fully electric compact SUV Hyundai Kona E, for which subscriber A pays 500 euros at 258,90 kilometers per month. Because subscriber B only drives 200 kilometers, he only pays 137,90 euros. Subscriber C relies on the car more often and pays EUR 800 for 353,90 kilometers – these prices also include the costs for fuel or charging the battery and all other fixed costs (including taxes, insurance, maintenance and tyres). For users in Cologne, even the resident parking permit is included. Cologne-based Zurich Insurance, a ViveLaCar cooperation partner since 2019, supports the pilot of ViveLaCar ONE with insurance cover tailored to the innovative offer.
Billing is accurate to the kilometer, transparent and separated by subscriber based on the kilometer package booked, which can be changed monthly - if you drive less, you pay less! The subscribers enjoy full service from the brand dealer, receive a cover letter from Zurich Insurance and remain flexible at all times. The joint subscription can be canceled monthly with a notice period of just three months; the minimum term is six months. Households from Cologne and Bergisch Gladbach have the opportunity to register for the pilot until October. Subscription communities of two or three households, each with a maximum of two users, can participate.
