With the introduction of the Evolution Line (Titanium) for the GLE 63 S, the GLE 63 S Coupé and the GLS 63, Akrapovič launched the latest exhaust system for its Mercedes-AMG models. This complete system is made exclusively from high-quality, lightweight titanium, resulting in a weight saving of 34,2% compared to the AMG Performance exhaust system. Sandblasted for a pleasing appearance, it is complemented by a new tailpipe design made from handcrafted carbon with a titanium inner sleeve. The ECE type-approved Evolution Line (Titanium) offers an increase in output of 6,3 kW (8,6 hp) and 21,3 Nm of torque, both at 2.800 rpm, compared to the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupé with AMG Performance Exhaust system on the Akrapovič test bench.
Akrapovic Evolution Line
The special parts of the system include three valves that ensure a perfect sound experience: one on each side of the silencer and one in the active X-joint in the link pipe. The housings for the valves are among the parts manufactured in Akrapovič's factory foundry. In addition to these three components, the X-connection itself is also cast here. The three valves, with a special headset that actuates them, have been skillfully matched by Akrapovič engineers to create a unique sound experience. With a pure and deep distinctive sound that fully lives up to the characteristics of the AMG engine without booming or disturbing the occupants, the full-bodied sound builds over revs with a well-defined and powerful hum that increases at higher revs into a high-frequency, sporty sound.
ECE type-approved for vehicles with Otto particle filters
This version of the Evolution Line (Titanium) covers three different models in the Mercedes-AMG model range, with each system featuring a slightly different link pipe length to suit the vehicle in question. The three vehicles are the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 / GLE 63 S Coupé (C293), the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 / GLE 63 S (W167) and the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 (X167). The Evolution Line (Titanium) is ECE type-approved for vehicles with a Otto Particulate Filter (OPF) and no re-mapping is required during fitting. It was developed as a direct replacement for vehicles that have an AMG Performance exhaust system.
