So far we have no official electronic modifications for e-vehicles like a Tesla Model S, one Audi e-tron or the new Mercedes EQC. Only have various updates directly from the manufacturer - especially with regard to Tesla vehicles - In the course of the years, one or the other horsepower was brought out or the range was subsequently optimized. But slowly but surely something is happening in the industry. We recently received a Facebook ad from "Tesla chip"Who sell the" TeslaChip "of the same name as a Tesla Range Extender. A system that on the one hand should be responsible for faster charging, on the other hand it should also reduce battery wear. The system should also work for vehicles like the Nissan Leaf, the VW E-Golf / E-Up or the KIA Soul EV / Bolt EV. But of course that is not a pure increase in performance in the classic sense.
now there is a real chip tuning -> CLICK
But a real increase in performance promises the German company KW-Systems Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH from Alsdorf. They have a real one in their online shop Chiptuning module 15% promises more power at the start and even incredible 160% more recuperation (Process for the recovery of energy). The "Chiptuning TESLA 90" power box / tuning box EV power module for the 90D variant is worldwide according to the provider first Plugin chiptuning module for TESLA vehicles. It promises 11 to 15% more performance and under optimal conditions it should even be up to 20% more. It is installed ready to be plugged in in just a few simple steps (plug & play) and increases the performance in the case of the P90D from 416 PS & 660 NM to an impressive 462 PS & 792 NM. For a current Model X P100D that would mean a jump in performance from 762 PS & 967 NM to a maximum of 914 PS & 1.160 NM. That would be completely crazy key data with just a little software. However, KW has not yet delivered anything for the P100D engine. Vehicles like this show us that software can certainly increase performance so much BMW 116D F20 which almost doubles performance with new software.
Installation using the plug & play method
And optionally there is also a pedal box from KW against a starting weakness in the Tesla. This module is also installed using the plug & play method and promises a more dynamic response when you step on the accelerator. We are curious whether this was the official starting signal for chip tuning on electric vehicles and whether the other large providers will follow suit. At the moment, we are not aware of any vehicles that have installed the almost € 2.000 chip tuning from KW in the Tesla P90D. As a result, there is still no reliable information about the effectiveness or durability of the drive or the battery.
