Form a rescue alley? How to do everything right!

When road accidents occur, it is important that ambulances and the like come to the scene of the accident quickly. Unfortunately, it is often the case that the emergency services are hindered. One Rescue alley is intended to help clear the way for the emergency services so that the injured can be helped more quickly.

Rescue alley required by law.

It is now the case that the rescue alley is required by law and you have to stick to them. Especially in traffic jams on the autobahn, you are now obliged to create an emergency lane as soon as traffic comes to a standstill. This means that rescue workers have free rein and can get to the scene of the accident much faster. Since the traffic jam is almost always caused by an accident, every second counts, of course. Especially in the case of serious injuries, a missing emergency lane can cost seconds to save a person.

A fine is payable

If you do not follow the rule and do not form a rescue alley, fines will be payable. A penalty of 320 euros, two points in Flensburg and a one-month driving ban can be the result of not following the instructions and obstructing traffic.

This is how it's done: The rescue alley not only form when the vehicle is at a standstill, but rather when the convoy of vehicles is only moving at walking pace. Drive cars in the leftmost lane as far to the left as possiblecorresponding to the right on the other lanes. Attention: As a rule, the hard shoulder cannot be used. Exceptions only apply if requested by the police and if there is no other way for reasons of space. And you should always leave a little more space to face the vehicle in front. When the car comes to a standstill, it is easier to move to the side. And the emergency lane may only be closed when traffic is back to normal. Incidentally, the emergency lane is not only compulsory on the autobahn, but Auch on multi-lane roads outside the village.
