The Nürburgring Nordschleife demands the best performance from people and material like hardly any other race track. Within four decades, the Nürburgring Endurance Series has grown into one of the largest and most well-known endurance championships with an international starting field. The suspension manufacturer KW automotive has been at home on the Nürburgring Nordschleife for over 20 years. In the 2022 season, the Nürburgring Endurance Series and KW automotive will be presenting spectacular slow-motion shots with a high-speed camera in thePlantation section of the route. Depending on the NLS run, the camera, which records 400 frames per second, is also used in the Hatzenbach and Schwalbenschwanz sections of the route.

The Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) is a real festival for motorsport fans. The elaborately produced English and German-language live streams of the championship in the Eifel have been reaching millions of viewers for years. Whether current GT3 racing cars, Cup vehicles, near-series production racing cars or even the occasional prototype cars that start in the run-up to the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, there is hardly any other motorsport series that has such a varied and diverse starting field as the NLS. “For us at KW, the NLS championship is one of the most interesting circuit competitions; after all, in hardly any other series are so many different vehicles on the track at once,” says KW automotive Managing Director Jürgen Wohlfarth. With every kilometer and every race, the more than 70 curves and the special Nordschleife topography with its numerous chicanes and jumps demand maximum performance from drivers, racing cars and damper technology every second. In addition to the customer sport program of BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and Toyota, KW has been strongly represented on the Nordschleife with its chassis applications since 1999. KW automotive manufactures its racing dampers and complete chassis for GT3, GT4, TCR and Cup vehicles as well as for numerous near-series NLS production cars.

Strong partner: More than half of the participants have been driving KW for years

Around 50 percent of the NLS starting field has been relying on KW Racing suspensions for years. The KW Race Service, which is present at all races, is highly appreciated by the participants. Eleven overall victories and countless class victories prove the convincing performance and reliability of the KW racing suspension. There is hardly any other section on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife that makes spectacular shots possible like the Pflanzengarten with its jump hills. That's why the organizer installed a high-speed camera there together with the chassis manufacturer KW automotive, which captures the action with its slow-motion shots and records the safe compression and damping. Depending on the NLS run, the camera, which records 400 frames per second, is also used in the Hatzenbach and Schwalbenschwanz sections of the route. “I'm already looking forward to the impressive images that will be transported to the screens when the races are broadcast thanks to the Superslomo. With KW automotive we have another strong partner on the starting grid,” says Michel Pathe, Managing Director of VLN VV GmbH & Co. KG.

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
