StVO compliant e-bike with power: the Eleglide M1 Plus!

[Advertisement] - Being environmentally friendly and active on the go, that goes with the sporty Choose M1 Plus. The e-bike from the Asian manufacturer is comfortable to ride, brakes well and shifts gears optimally, so that the rider can move safely and quickly on the road at the same time. The modern e-bike has also been approved according to StVO for our German roads. The Eleglide M1 Plus can hold its own alongside the German-made bikes. More and more cycling fans are opting for the latest models and are enjoying the high-quality yet inexpensive e-bikes from Asia, such as the Eleglide M1 Plus, which you can buy in the online shop from Geekmaxi.com already for under 800 € can acquire. With a removable battery, which you can buy additionally, you are also equipped for particularly long bike tours.

Choose M1 Plus

E-bikes are being seen more and more often on German roads, because not only older people can benefit from electrically powered bicycles. In addition to electric scooters, e-bikes such as the Eleglide M1 Plus are becoming increasingly popular because they are not only sustainable, but also space-saving and ideal, especially in big cities.

In addition, you can spend a lot of time in nature with an e-bike and do something good for your own health. Whether for the way to work or for long bike tours with the family, the electric bike offers fun and exercise like the classic bike, but also relief when you want or need to save some physical strength. So even a longer distance does not become a problem.

Ride an e-bike legally on German roads

However, the foreign e-bikes do not always meet the requirements of the German road traffic regulations. Especially with the models from Asian production, it is noticeable that there are a few points that ensure that the e-bike cannot take part in road traffic. For example, too much power/speed or additional functions such as a throttle grip. But with the Eleglide M1 Plus you don't have to fear any consequences, because it is approved for road traffic in Germany and can be driven legally.

This is noticeable when you take a closer look at the technical data. Even if with the e-bike a Thumb throttle is included in the scope of delivery, the user does not have to install it and the e-bike is thus legal to be driven on German roads. Fully automatic throttle levers, which provide acceleration at the push of a button without pedaling, are according to the Road Traffic Regulations not approved for German roads. Too much power can also be problematic. But with the Eleglide M1 Plus there are no difficulties in this regard and the owner can enjoy legal use.

Big e-bike, big range

The Eleglide M1 Plus is an e-bike that people of normal height or slightly taller people can enjoy. With a tire size of 27,5 inches (approx. 70 cm), the bike is more of a big bike. Connoisseurs will notice this immediately, because smaller e-bikes often appear a bit compressed and often do not find the desired appeal.

At first glance, the large e-bike even looks like a classic mountain bike, but if you take a closer look, you will recognize the electric bike by the one in the middle Battery, which reveals the true meaning. With a capacity of 12,5 Ah and 36 volts the e-bike has a range of about 100 kilometers with ideal utilization. Of course, you always have to consider individual factors such as the weight of the rider, the climb on the route and the weather.

If you drive the entire route in level 5 at a speed of 25 km/h, you will definitely not be able to reach the average 100 kilometers specified. At this high speed level, you can at best count on half the driving performance. If you want to charge the battery, you can simply remove it from the bike and charge it at home, for example. A special key is required for this, two of which are of course included in the scope of delivery. And locking the battery also minimizes the risk of theft.

drive at different levels

With the inexpensive e-bike from China, the top speed is five levels reached. In the first stage, the wheel can support up to 12 km/h, the second stage reaches up to 16 km/h, the 3rd stage goes up to 20 km/h and the fourth stage brings it to 23 kilometers per hour. At the maximum (level 5), the legally permitted maximum of 25 kilometers per hour is then possible. You notice the change in the respective levels by a small boost, which brings the bike to the speed intended for the respective level.

If the driver does not pedal, the electric motor also stops after a somewhat annoying commemoration. In each level, the drive only whirrs gently, but depending on the selected level, it quickly brings the bike up to the maximum speed. When driving itself, the motor is always quiet and can hardly be heard in normal ambient noise. So he doesn't bother.

21 gears and adequate brakes

The gear shift from the Tourney series by Shimano is convincing. Both the thumb shifter on the handlebars and changing gears using the small rings almost always work without any problems. If it doesn't work right away, you only have to push down a little. And the disc brakes are also perfectly fine. With a good setting, which you should do yourself after delivery, they stop quickly and brake the bike with pinpoint accuracy. Whether you use the front brake alone or together with the rear brake, the bike comes to a quick standstill. Of course not with the consequence of a hydraulic brake.

Display to improve

A small deduction comes into play due to the display. With just three buttons, more could be offered here. Only the light and the driving modes can be operated via the display. Unfortunately, there is no good display of the kilometers driven and other small functions that even the simplest bike computer offers nowadays.

Testing the Eleglide M1 Plus

  • In the test, I was able to try out the e-bike and get an overview. As already mentioned, the engine and the performance are decent and leave little to be desired in everyday use. Unfortunately, the wheel cannot be adjusted in size and is therefore only suitable for people up to 1,90 m tall. Nevertheless, for me a very clear recommendation, especially in view of the price.
