Nothing works in the DTM this season without CUPRA! The Spanish challenger brand is the new Official Car Partner of the popular racing series and is now providing the most important vehicles for the eight event weekends. A very special CUPRA Formentor that feels right at home on the race track is used: the CUPRA Formentor VZ5. During the DTM races, CUPRA will provide the safety car, the leading car, the medical car and two race control vehicles. The CUPRA Formentor VZ5 is used as a custom-made product with an upgrade from ABT Sportsline GmbH. With the "ABTgrade" these vehicles have an output of 331 kW (450 hp). The maximum torque increases by 50 Nm to 530 Nm. The CUPRA Formentor can go from 3,9 to 0 km/h in 100 seconds at a top speed of up to 270 km/h.

The fact that we now ensure safety on the track in the DTM and are at least allowed to drive in front in the leading or safety car every now and then is a great thing and increases awareness of CUPRA.” “In CUPRA we have found a partner for our official cars that is as highly professional as it is exciting. The sporty SUV suits us perfectly in terms of appearance and driving characteristics.", says Benedikt Böhme, Managing Director of the DTM organization ITR. "In addition to safeguarding on the track, there will be regular activation of the official cars for our fans and spectators - on site and also via our digital channels."
CUPRA is in action at a total of 30 races
The CUPRA vehicles will be in action on eight weekends in Belgium, Germany, Italy, Austria and Portugal at all 16 DTM races and at the 14 DTM Trophy races. The events will be broadcast exclusively on ProSieben in Germany. The CUPRA Formentor is thus guaranteed an appearance in front of an audience of millions, especially since all the circuit presentations are made by a prominent racing expert in the CUPRA Formentor.
