The fenders widen the body width by 20 centimeters compared to the RAM 1500 and the slightly longer wheelbase allows more space for Goodyear tires in the dimensions 325/65 R18 and a height of 89! Centimeters. All four wheels are attached to adaptive shock absorbers from Bilstein (Blackhawk E2), which can vary the damping force. The rear suspension has special attachment points for better driving behavior and should also increase the service life. The new springs at the front and rear extend the ground clearance to 30 centimeters and the suspension travel is 33 centimeters at the front and 36 at the rear. The fording depth of the TRX is a whopping 81 centimeters, by the way. In the cabin there are chic contrasting seams and various equipment and option packages compared to the RAM 1500. In the TRX, however, an automatic lever replaces the rotary wheel of the RAM 1500. Why? No idea! The basic TR features seats made of fabric and vinyl and dark red accents. If you opt for the TR1 or TR2 option, there is a completely black leather and suede interior with ventilated front seats.
Metal look or ultra-light carbon
There are also gray seams and metal-look interior details in the TR1, while the TR2 has optional red seams and carbon elements. Further details in the interior include a thick steering wheel with a flattened bottom, large aluminum shift paddles, a head-up display (TR2) and, optionally, a camera-based rearview mirror. However, the properties for the terrain are more important. And they are great! Because for the first time in the 1500 family, the TRX has a mode selection for the transfer case. The settings include: Normal, Wet / Snow, Offroad and Baja mode as well as one launch control. And that in a pickup! And if you want to annoy the Ford Raptor, then jump detection should also be included. And of course the TRX does. With the help of wheel speed sensors and accelerometers, it detects whether it flies. Power peaks in the drive train are then prevented and the RAM prepares itself during the jump with perfect gear selection, torque supply and damping rates for the upcoming landing, which is also a little more rough with 5 protective plates on the underbody to protect the front axle, the transfer case, the tank and the transmission pan can fail.

Incidentally, the Hellcat-TRX can pull a maximum of 3,7 tons and the payload is just under 600 kilograms. And the RAM maneuvering aid for reversing with a trailer is an extremely user-friendly option for parking on board directly from the factory. The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is manufactured at the Ram facility in Sterling Heights, Michigan and has been available to order since yesterday (August 18).
