The good old rally days of the Group B monsters will probably never come back, because nowadays drugged small cars like a Hyundai i20 or Toyota Yaris are driving for the title in the WRC World Rally Championship. But fans of the legendary Group B cars do not have to wallow in past times and memories, because body shops like Kimera bring the legendary vehicles back to life. From the one just mentioned Restomod Forge comes about that Kimera Martini 7, which pays homage to the unforgettable Lancia 037, which is built in a small series of just 37 vehicles. We would now like to present this vehicle to you.
Rally cars for special moments!
In terms of design, the Kimera Martini 7 clearly mimics the legendary Lancia. And that is of course wanted by the manufacturer. In addition, the specimen, which is unique with this configuration, was designed in the legendary Martini Racing look and even has a removable rear bumper. Instead of the spirits manufacturer's lettering, however, the words "World Rally Champion" can be read, because alcohol advertising is controversial these days.
The chassis comes from the classic Lancia Beta Monte Carlo and the fiberglass attachments have been replaced with Kevlar and carbon components. Thanks to the generous use of light materials, the curb weight is just 1.100 kilograms, resulting in a power-to-weight ratio of around 2 kg/hp. LED headlights and LED auxiliary lights also ensure an optimal view, even at night and in the most adverse weather conditions. At the same time, the lights pay tribute to the original Group B monster. The spider web rims are also WRC style and suit the car well.
2.1 liter four-cylinder with double charging!
Satte 557 PS from a four-cylinder petrol engine, with turbo and compressor charging, are available in the restomod monster. Unfortunately, we don't know anything about the maximum torque, but the power is transmitted exclusively to the rear wheels via a manual transmission with shortened shift travel. The driving performance of the super sports car has not yet been announced, but it should be exceptional, since the power to weight ratio is only about 2 kg/hp.
Our conclusion:
- A great collector's item for solvent rally fans! Kimera shows once again that it is worth reviving legendary super athletes. For that we have a lot of praise. If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed about this if you simply use our Feed subscribe to.
