The Bentayga is the fastest SUV on the legendary Pikes Peak! For International Hill Climb 2018 there was an almost 2 minutes improved total time for the Briton. As already in the article to Grigio Startech Widebody Bentayga Briefly mentioned, the luxury SUV is now the record holder in the SUV class. The “King Of The Hill” can now be called the Bentayga for at least one year. In our opinion, at least until someone im Lamborghini Governance tries. But it would almost remain in the family should the Urus break the record next year. But back to the Bentayga. Dangers of the double champion Rhys Millen needed the moderately modified SUV for the nearly 20 km of Pikes Peak only 10: 49,9 minutes.
The average speed was 107 km / h. This means that the Bentayga undercut the previous speed record in this class by almost 2 minutes. The basis for the success is of course the 600 PS & 900 Nm strong W12 engine but also the successful setup of the British SUV. Adaptive air suspension, an active electric 48V anti-roll control and huge carbon-ceramic brakes naturally also played their part. Changes compared to the series of the Bentayga were a completely removed rear seat, racing seats in front, a roll cage, a roaring Akrapovic sports exhaust system and a mandatory fire extinguishing system. Add a set of tires from the Pirelli DOT range and that's it.
Bentley is celebrating the record with a limited edition 10 edition of the Bentayga as "Pikes Peak Bentayga" from the in-house tuner Mulliner is made by hand. The special model of the mobile Pikes Peak homage is available in either beluga black or radium. It comes with tailor-made 22-inch rims with a two-tone finish, black details on the outside instead of chrome and a body kit. The body kit is made of carbon and brings a front splitter, side skirts, a diffuser and a roof spoiler to the Bentayga. The front fenders are decorated with a Pikes Peak motif and the edition is rounded off with the Bentayga Sports Exhaust and Touring Specification Pack. It will then be available in the USA and Europe from August.
