S / RS goes offline - Audi S / RS can not be ordered thanks to WLTP

On the website of the car manufacturer Audi the feature to configure S and RS models is currently not available. Like BMW and many other well-known manufacturers, Audi is also struggling with the new exhaust and consumption measuring cycles WLTP and RDE, which are much stricter. You have already made sure that the F80 M3 and the BMW 640i Coupe are completely adjusted. Even X5, X6, M550i and 7er petrol are currently not available. And also at VW there are deep cuts. Here you kill different equipment variants because the equipment influences are included for the determination of the consumption in the WLTP cycle and simply mean too much effort. And now it has just caught Audi. Audi S and RS models as well as large petrol with DSG gear you can not currently configure on the homepage.

Almost every model and every engine has to be re-homologated and that not only causes a lot of effort for the manufacturers but also for the authorities who have to certify every new homologation. The "old" NEDC homologated vehicles can currently still be delivered, but approval is only possible until the end of August 2018. The Porsche subsidiary was not really hit better. The current conversion of production to engines with gasoline particulate filters (OPF) is so extensive that only a limited number of new cars are currently being produced. A Porsche without a particle filter cannot currently be ordered.

His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
