RUF Rt12 based on the Porsche Carrera (997) is sold!

This 10 RUF Rt2007 will be sold at an RM Sotheby's car auction on December 12th in Miami's South Beach (USA). The car, based on the wider and modified body of Porsche's 997-generation Carrera, was developed as the Rt12 by German carmaker RUF, with a powerful 3,8-liter, twin-turbocharged boxer engine delivering 660 hp (485 kW), stocked. There was also a special RUF gearbox and a modified rear axle differential. But even with that, the 320 wide tires have a hard time. The agility of the Rt12 is controlled by a fully adjustable hydraulic chassis from RUF and the bullet is decelerated with a massive red painted 8-piston sports brake system at the front and a 4-piston system at the rear, behind a set of 18 inch 5-spoke OZ Rims.

RUF Rt12 – Porsche Carrera

With the optional "long" gear ratio and all-wheel drive in conjunction with ultra-light carbon bumpers, a carbon bonnet and a carbon tailgate for weight reduction, a top speed of over 360 km/h is possible. Even today, these are still completely crazy key data. Incidentally, each of the only 57 Rt12s built over a period of five years was only made to customer specifications. And this copy was ordered back then in the noble Carrera White and with a red leather interior to North Texas. The cabin shows light Bucket seats, there are black ones Racing Harnesses and a black carpet. There are also red Alcantara details, white displays and the certainty that the noble cabin is always acoustically sufficiently filled by the built-in sports exhaust.

almost €800.000 is expected

Incidentally, according to the auction portal, this example is the only Rt12 that was built with the mentioned specifications, including all-wheel drive and all options available at the time. The vehicle cost a hefty €238.094 on the day of delivery, which is expected to rise to around €770.000 at the auction.
