RUF Bergmeister (Project RBS) for Monterey Car Week 2022!

The Monterey Car Week in Pebble Beach has also produced fantastic vehicles in 2022 and one of them comes directly from Germany. Namely from the manufacturer RUF Automobile in the form of an open speedster called "Bergmeister". The Bergmeister, too Project RBS called, was to the event in combination with the CALL SCR issued. The RUF Bergmeister is inspired by the old ones Porsche Hillclimb vehicles from times gone by, paying homage in particular to the legendary 906, the 909 Bergspyder and the 718 RS 60 Spyder by Tony Hatter. The White Painting and the green ones racing stripes are inspired by the 909 Bergspyder, while the headlights are similar to those of the 718 RS 60 Spyder. But RUF was also inspired by other racing cars such as the Adamowicz TransAm 911 from 1971 or the GT1 Evo from 1997. At just 1.100 kg, the rear-engine speedster is the lightest car Ruf has ever built.

Carbon fiber body

The vehicle has a completely made of carbon fiber shell, a striking Front apron with canards and as already mentioned, newly developed ones were installed in the typical restomod style LED headlights front and back (are suitable for all Porsche 993 models). And of course there was a particularly short one Windshield in Speedster style. Next to see is a big one Ducktail rump spoiler and on one rear apron renounces RUF completely. In the Cabin there is a lot of black Alcantara on the dash, the shifter, the door panels, the sports bucket seats with retro tartan upholstery and that too Sport steering wheel is completely covered with Alcantara. And what's behind the seats? An air-cooled one, of course 3,6-liter six-cylinder engine with dry sump lubrication and turbocharger. He's having a crisp Six-speed manual connected and developed, designed and built by RUF. He delivers with the help of a locking differential tight 450 PS & 599 Nm of torque to the rear wheels.

Carbon-ceramic brakes

Reputation also has one Carbon-ceramic brakes (350 mm discs / 6 & 4 piston calipers) installed to increase braking power and a set 19-inch wheels with ultra-wide tires and center lock. "When we started building our own automobiles in 1974, it was all about driving pleasure“, says Alois Ruf, owner of RUF Automobile GmbH. "We are honored to be represented at The Quail and to celebrate the passion for driving with our friends. The Bergmeister embodies the most fundamental driving experience ever, while the SCR highlights the latest technology from our Pfaffenhausen-based team“. Ruf gave neither that Price of the Bergmeister nor the number of the planned ones Copies known.
