The brand, however, was known as Buick and 1908 by William Durant in the General-MotorsGroup incorporated. As one of the first car brands in the US, Buick already used the OHV valve control on the manufactured cars from 1904. This also contributed significantly to the success, which increased steadily over decades. During the Second World War, the production of cars from 1942 was interrupted and only in the autumn 1945 resumed.
