DUOTTS C29 E-Bike: Powerful, robust & inexpensive - an all-round talent!

[Display] After presenting a number of e-bikes, we have now tackled the DUOTTS C29 electric mountain bike. DUOTTS is a Chinese brand specializing in e-bikes since 2017. Thanks to the innovative and primarily affordable products, it quickly established itself on the market. We really like the assembly and the simple design of the DUOTTS C29. We were able to fully assemble the bike in just 30 minutes, with "pulling" it out of the box being the hardest part. The bike comes in a huge box that protects the set. All the tools required for assembly are included, although a classic "houseman's tool" is of course more suitable. The bike weighs no more than 26 kg (including the battery), its 29-inch tires (29*2.1″) make it suitable for all sizes. In addition, it has an excellently processed front suspension, in our opinion. The fenders aren't the prettiest, though, so we'd recommend looking for a different set or just omitting them.

The DUOTTS C29 e-bike has a sturdy aluminum frame with front and rear suspension for a smooth and stable ride. It has a 750 watt Bafang motor that can assist up to 35 km/h offers and can be controlled via an intuitive LCD. Internal star gearing amplifies torque and improves energy conversion, improving speed. Compared to other similar models on the market, the C29 is characterized by what we believe to be really good quality and an affordable price at the same time.

We had the opportunity to make several trips with the DUOTTS C29. The first tour took us a distance of 40 km on the road. We used support levels 1 and 2 as well as the level without support from time to time to do a test without a battery. The support is very pleasant and not too abrupt, as is unfortunately often the case with many other bikes. Without support, the high weight makes pedaling more difficult, but by no means impossible. For us, a short ride in the forest was a real pleasure! The engine performance and the shock absorption thanks to the suspension are very well matched and excellent in this price segment. A steep ascent on a gravel road followed by a forest path was easy with the motor power of the e-bike and the Full electric mode (not allowed in this country) get over. The DUOTTS has three usage modes: pedaling without assistance, assisted pedaling with five levels (speeds from 19 to 35 km/h) and the fully electric mode, which is as powerful as a small e-scooter.

• Manoeuvrability: The DUOTTS C29 is a little heavy, which is logical considering the size of the battery. Thanks to the 21 Shimano gears, however, it is easy to drive.
• Durability: The DUOTTS C29 is well made and solid.
• Price: The DUOTTS C29 is comparable to other E-MTBs of similar quality.

The DUOTTS C29 electric mountain bike is powerful, has a sleek matte color design, average weight and in full electric mode performance worthy of a powerful e-scooter. So far, it's our favorite eMTB in the price segment under €1.000. We were impressed with the speed and would only wish for a little more battery life. The handling is also great. The e-bike is comfortable to ride, which makes it ideal for everyday use or for sports activities.

The technical specifications of the DUOTTS C29 are also worth seeing. It features a powerful 750 watt Bafang motor that can accelerate the bike to speeds of up to 35 km/h. It also has a lithium-ion battery that enables a range of up to 50 km. And the bike comes with a range of accessories including DUOTTS tires, a lithium-ion battery, disc brakes and even an inductive charger.

In summary, it can be said that the DUOTTS C29 e-bike has, in our opinion, excellent value for money. It combines high performance with a robust construction and a great design at an affordable price. Whether you are looking for a bike for everyday use or for sports activities, the DUOTTS C29 will not disappoint.
