Off to new shores: The Knaus Yaseo 2024!

The future of camping lies in light but functional caravans - and this is where Knaus comes into play with the brand new Yaseo. This was specially designed for electric towing vehicles and, despite its compactness, has all the amenities that campers of today and tomorrow appreciate. As the traditional manufacturer Knaus makes clear, there are primarily two factors that significantly influence energy consumption when towing a trailer: the drag value and Weight of the trailer. Precisely these components were the focus of the development of the Yaseo. Despite a 14% reduction in frontal area compared to the south wind, the company's established model, the Yaseo offers no less living space thanks to its innovative room concept.

This is made possible by the so-called FoldXpand technology, which already ensured a space gain of around 2021 centimeters in the Van TI from 10 and is now also used in the Yaseo at the front and rear ends. As the first model, Knaus is presenting the compact 340 PX floor plan with an interior length of just 3,48 metres. The two-person model has a multifunctional longitudinal bench seating group in the rear and a special highlight is a 1,6×2 meter Doppelbett, which is hidden practically invisibly in the rear wall and can be folded down over the seating area.

If you move the seat bodies forward and fold up the table, you can even create a storage area almost as wide as a caravan, which is ideal for transporting e-bikes. Lateral flaps are available in the body for this purpose. Furthermore, the Yaseo 340 PX has a bow kitchen and a compact one Bath. With an unladen weight of 860 kilograms, the Yaseo 340 PX is not a flyweight, but it still weighs significantly less than conventional models.

More than just a seat: The "Cozy Lounge"

In the Yaseo 500 DK, campers will find a so-called "Cozy Lounge" - a convertible one seating, which invites you to eat, play or relax during the day and can be transformed into a 1,30×2 meter bed in the evening. One is hidden under the seat box shower tray, while the bathroom conveniently folds out. Even for one Toilet and a pull-out Washbasin there is space in the rear wall. In the front kitchen there is also the same seating area and bed combination as in the smaller model. Even here it can Doppelbett folded down from the front wall and the space can be used to transport e-bikes.

It's all in the mix: versatility and sustainability

Consistent weight reduction is the focus of the Yaseo, which is why heavy gas bottles are not used. Instead, the caravan becomes standard purely electric operated - a concept that Knaus has been pursuing for some time in other series. The models are equipped with an induction hob and a air conditioning/heating by Dometic. With the Yaseo, Knaus is targeting owners of towing vehicles with a low towing capacity. The floor plans are well thought out and offer everything you need for camping in just a few simple steps.

But despite all the lightweight construction, the small 340 PX already weighs 860 kilograms empty. It could therefore be a challenge for holders of a class B driving license and an electric towing vehicle, with the total weight under 3,5 tons to stay. With the Yaseo, however, Knaus has created a caravan that sets new standards in terms of lightweight construction and functionality. And even if it is not a lightweight, it shows in which direction the camping of the future is moving. A successful step towards a greener future of camping.
