Retro sports car with a modern soul: the 2024 Mitsuoka Himiko!

The year 2024 will be the highlight Mitsuoka Himiko in 30s style! The nostalgic Sportauto, that on the Mazda MX-5 Miata based, draws its inspiration from times long past, but remains rooted in the present. Originally Introduced in 2008, the Himiko takes us to the second generation with you on a journey through time. With only ten copies as planned production, the limited model is already an extraordinary piece of automotive history. The Himiko not only trumps with its unmistakable Retro design on, he also offers a range of modern Amenities. An elegant one leather interior, heatable Seats, Cruise Control, Road Sign recognition and even one CD/DVD player ensure that you travel in style and comfort.

And what would a retro sports car be without a spectacular one optics? Long fenders adorn special Emblems, while a unique Grille Badge on chromed Grill in cloisonné style and round headlights as well as a new one bumper completes the design. Furthermore, one extends the bonnet and also the trunk lid is new. And behind are now round lights installed. There is also a choice of seven attractive ones Colors, including French Mint Pearl Metallic, Solid Grey, Sunshine Orange, Chiffon Ivory Metallic, Jet Black Mica and the brand new tones Passion Red Metallic and Snowflake White Pearl Mica for the 2024 model year. With its Dimensions At 4580mm long, 1740mm wide and 1235mm high, the Himiko is more imposing than the Mazda MX-5 Miata on which it is based - more precisely, it is a whopping 665mm longer and 10mm wider.

Under the hood of the Himiko works the compact 1,5 liter petrol engine (131 hp), which seamlessly with a 6-speed automatic transmission is coupled, or alternatively the 2,0 liters (184 hp) by Mazda. Also a 6-speed manual transmission is available. The powertrain gives the Himiko the sporty driving feel that one would expect from such a retro sports car and should easily suffice. But all the exclusivity and style of the Himiko comes at a price, of course. With a Base price of around EUR 43.425 (equivalent to ¥6,787,000) it is certainly not a bargain. And if you want to emphasize your individuality even further, you can do the above-mentioned for an extra charge Passion Red metallic paint for 700 EUR or the Snowflake White Pearl Mica finish can be raised for 350 EUR.

Power and performance with retro style

With the limited 2024 Mitsuoka Himiko, Mitsuoka brings together the best of two worlds: the charm and style of a classic sports car and the Reliability and performance of modern technology. For fans of retro sports cars, this is certainly a welcome addition to the streets. Being quick is worth it – at only ten available models the Himiko will surely sell out quickly.
