April 15, 1923 is a special date in the history of Alfa Romeo. On this day, the symbol of the Four-leaf clover the works racing cars of the traditional Italian brand. And the green, four-leaf clover on a white background brought good luck straight away: Ugo Sivocci won the Targa Florio road race on the Mediterranean island of Sicily in an Alfa Romeo RLS ahead of teammate Antonio Ascari. Just in time for the 100th anniversary of this memorable event, Alfa Romeo presents the new Quadrifoglio versions of the Giulia and Stelvio. The first are the exclusive anniversary models Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario and Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario. Both are limited to 100 copies each. Orders start in a few weeks.
Giulia & Stelvio Quadrifoglio
Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario and Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario represent over a century of technical excellence in racing and production cars. Extremely agile handling and a low power-to-weight ratio guarantee a unique and direct driving experience. The anniversary models show, among other things, full LED matrix headlights, the digital central instrument and special badges.
Limited anniversary models – Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario
To mark the anniversary, the Quadrifoglio returned to its origins: Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario and Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario visited Sicily for an exclusive photo production. The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario and Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario are powered by a 2,9-liter twin-turbo V6 petrol engine that produces 382 kW (520 hp). The performance of the Quadrifoglio variants has increased by 7kW (10 hp) from the previous 375 kW (510 hp).
The mechanical locking differential on the rear axle is part of the standard equipment of the anniversary models, of which only 100 will be produced. The specific tuning of the self-locking differential is based on the experience that Alfa Romeo made with the high-performance models GTA and GTAm, which are 20 hp more powerful. The limited-slip differential improves the vehicle's traction by counteracting wheel spin when accelerating. Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario and Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario thus offer further optimized driving safety and agility at even higher cornering speeds.
Use of ultra-light materials
The anniversary models also achieve top-class driving dynamics through the use of ultra-light materials. The motor consists largely of aluminum. The bonnet, spoiler, side skirts and cardan shaft, among other things, are made of carbon fiber as standard. The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario also has an active front splitter (AlfaTM Active Aero Splitter) made of carbon fiber. Depending on the speed, it is extended to a greater or lesser extent, thus optimizing downforce and traction on the front axle at high speeds. The sports exhaust system from Akrapovič® ensures the unmistakable engine sound.
A striking visual feature of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario and Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario are the headlights with full LED matrix technology, each divided into three elements. The standard equipment of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario also includes burnished 19-inch alloy wheels with a five-hole design. The rims of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario have a 21-inch format.
gold-colored accents on both vehicles
Both models feature gold-colored accents, including with the brake calipers, as well as specific emblems on the front fenders that refer to the Quadrifoglio's 100th anniversary. For an even sportier look, the radiator grille and the cover caps on the exterior mirrors are made of visible carbon on both anniversary models. There are three body colors to choose from: Rosso Etna, Verde Montreal and Nero Vulcano.
The exclusive combination of black leather and Alcantara® determines the look of the interior of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario and Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario. The seats are decorated with gold-colored stitching. Carbon fiber elements enhance the dashboard, center tunnel and door panels. The dashboard is also adorned with the anniversary number 100 and the Quadrifoglio lettering in gold. The sports steering wheel is covered in leather and Alcantara® and features carbon fiber inserts.
central instrument in the design of historic Alfa Romeo
The central instrument is in the design of a historic Alfa Romeo, but the technology is state-of-the-art. The display consists of a fully digital TFT monitor with a 12,3 inch (31,2 centimeter) screen diagonal. The central instrument can be used to call up information about the vehicle's operating status or parameters for autonomous driving.
The fourth mode, RACE, is available for the layout of the central instrument on the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario and Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio 100° Anniversario. It complements the variants EVOLVED, RELAX and HERITAGE that can be selected for all model versions of Giulia and Stelvio. In the RACE layout, the rev counter, the speedometer and the display for optimal shift points for manual gear changes are displayed centrally. The graphics can also be customized. For example, additional information on the power output of the engine can be placed on the side dials.
