Audi Sport GmbH turns the proverbial screws and thus increases the sportiness of the Audi RS 4 Avant and Audi RS 5. The new competition package is peppered with extras that both sharpen the visual appearance and ensure even more emotional driving. The competition plus package also ensures maximum dynamics and driving pleasure with its optional coilover suspension (RS sport suspension pro) - while maintaining the highest level of suitability for everyday use. Sometimes less is more: thanks to reduced insulation between the engine and interior, the RS 4 Avant and RS 5 impress with exciting acoustics at a new level. The potent V6 biturbo delivers 331 kW (450 hp) and 600 Newton meters of torque from 1.900 to 5.000 rpm. The Audi RS 4 Avant and the RS 5 with the competition packages will be available from dealers from July. Prices start at 7.875 euros for the competition package and 11.875 euros for the competition plus package.
The next level of sportiness!
Despite its focus on increased driving pleasure, the RS sport suspension pro, a manually adjustable coilover suspension, offers the best possible spread between comfort and performance. Longer distances can also be covered comfortably with all available assistance systems and without any restrictions. If the customer chooses this chassis, his RS 4 Avant or RS 5 will be delivered from the factory with a trim level that is 10 millimeters lower than the conventional RS models. In addition, the trim level can be lowered manually by a further 10 millimeters, which corresponds to a total reduction of 20 millimeters compared to the standard version.
A higher spring rate, triple-adjustable dampers and stiffer anti-roll bars not only enhance the overall driving experience, but also help reduce lap times. The handling is even more precise and agile. The two competition packages have also been increased to a top speed of 290 km/h. The Audi RS 0 Avant with the competition package sprints from 100 to 4 km/h in 3,9 seconds, an improvement of 0,2 seconds compared to the series model. The Audi RS 5 Coupé and the RS 5 Sportback complete the sprint in 3,8 seconds, an improvement of 0,1 seconds.
The ratio of the dynamic steering is fixed at a ratio of 1:13,1. In this way, Audi Sport GmbH creates even more precise driving behavior and even more line fidelity at medium, high and very high speeds. The revised quattro sport differential ensures an increased degree of agility and therefore driving pleasure, especially in the "dynamic" driving mode. A new data set in the control unit with changed parameters puts the focus on more emphasis on the rear. In addition, software in the transmission control unit that has also been revised - only in conjunction with the competition packages - leads to reduced shift times and ensures a noticeably greater spread between the individual driving modes. The plus in dynamics needs a plus in negative acceleration at the same time. In conjunction with the Pirelli P Zero Corsa, newly tuned ABS software and the RS ceramic brake system, the braking distance from 100 km/h is reduced by up to 2 metres.
Audi Sport GmbH is presenting the new RS sports exhaust system plus with tailpipes in matt black especially for the competition packages. The more intense sound is not only created by the exhaust system itself, but above all by reduced insulation between the engine and interior, which also saves around 8 kilograms in weight. Fine-tuning of the software of the engine control unit ensures tighter load changes in mode S when the "dynamic" driving mode is selected via drive select - this contributes to a further increase in emotionality.
The once again sharpened appearance!
In the interior, both competition and competition plus impress with attractive new features: the seat side panels gleam in piano black. On request, a Dinamica-pearl nappa combination further enhances the standard RS sport seats. The Dinamica material consists of around 45 percent recycled PET fibers, and around 215 grams of PET fibers are used for the seats.
The four rings on the bonnet and the trunk lid as well as the type designation underline the sporty character thanks to the glossy black paint finish. Matching this, the exterior color Sebring black crystal effect is available for the first time for the RS 4 and RS 5. If you want to emphasize the sporty appearance of your RS 4 Avant or RS 5 even further, you can purchase the high-sheen competition wheel in phantom black.
On request, Audi can combine the 20-inch fully milled wheel with the high-performance Pirelli P Zero Corsa tire developed for the road and the race track for an additional charge. The Matrix LED headlights are standard on the Audi RS 55; they illuminate the street with laser light. The Audi RS 4 Avant and the Audi RS 5 in competition trim stand out from the crowd with the gloss black styling package as standard. Audi offers the package in exclusive carbon gloss as an option for a surcharge. The package is available in matt carbon as an alternative exclusively for the competition packages. The add-on parts, including the exterior mirrors, front blade, side flaps, inserts for the sill extensions and rear diffuser, are made of matt carbon. All other add-on parts shine in black.
