This gorgeous Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, with a plethora of upgrades from TIKT Performance, may have what it takes to be the stunning Lap time of 6:48,047 minutes, which Maro Engel achieved in November 2020 on the 20,832-kilometer route of the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. At that time, the top model of the AMG GT series held the title of the fastest production vehicle on the legendary circuit, also known as the "Green Hell". One might think that the impressive driving dynamics of the GT Black Series can hardly be increased by a tuner. But TIKT Performance wants to prove exactly that with the "BlackSorzist".
BlackSorzist by Tikt Performance
The GT Black Series, already equipped with an extroverted and aerodynamically efficient wing configuration at the factory, received further aerodynamic optimization from TIKT. This includes a twelve-piece front aerodynamics kit, which not only provides significantly more downforce on the front axle, but is also a real eye-catcher. In addition, small gurneys were added to the louvers in the front fenders, which should further increase the efficiency of the wheel arch ventilation.
And in addition to the aerodynamics, the mechanical grip of the BlackSorzist has also been improved. TIKT has developed a special set-up for the standard AMG Ride Control suspension with adjustable damping to ensure the tires have the best possible grip. And with the tires there was also a change. The Hankook Ventus S1 evo3 now used are wider at 295/35R19 on the front and 345/30R20 on the rear axle than the standard slippers, which measure 285/35ZR19 and 335/30ZR.
lightweight TIKT RR-1 forged wheels
The new tires are also mounted on ultra-light TIKT RR-1 forged wheels in OEM sizes 10×19 & 12×20 inches. The particularly light rims, weighing only 8,2 and 9,6 kilograms, reduce the unsprung and rotating masses and thus contribute to better road holding and greater longitudinal dynamics. Aero-Discs made of full carbon, which are mounted on the filigree Y-spoke rims, also optimize the ventilation of the brakes and at the same time reduce air turbulence on the wheels.
And of course, the TIKT team with motorsport experience has also further increased the performance of the M 178 4,0 liter biturbo V8, which has already been extensively revised in the factory for the GT Black Series. Thanks to a Dynotech K850 performance upgrade, the flatplane eight-cylinder achieves an impressive 840 PS & 900 Nm maximum torque after tuning. A modified exhaust system announces this significant increase in performance with a particularly enthusiastic sound.
Are the changes enough for a new personal best?
So far there is no officially measured Nordschleife time for the TIKT Black Series weapon, but we are confident that the "BlackSorzist" can beat its series brother by a few blinks of an eye under comparable conditions and driver skills.
