With a fabric roof in the luxury class? The brand new 2019 G14 BMW 8er Convertible does just that. Available with gasoline and diesel engine, BMW finally has a competitor to the Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet (A217) at the start and makes a real impression with a maximum of 530 hp in the M850i. And maybe there will soon be an approx. 650 hp M8 convertible as a counterpart to the S63 AMG. But even the "normal" 8 Series is beyond all doubt and one of the most beautiful vehicles on the market. With a base price of at least 108.000 euros, the open pleasure is also 8000 euros more expensive than the technically identical G15 Coupe. But it is even more beautiful! And the BMW and MINI partner Hutter Dynamics based in Winterthur and Schaffhausen has such a G14 convertible (seemingly) already lowered for summer 2019. "Apparently" because we are not 100% sure whether it is not a virtual lowering like on M850i xDrive Coupe from November 2018 concerns.

Anyway, the basis is an 840d xDrive convertible in metallic white that was delivered with a 20-inch bicolor Y-spoke M728 wheel set. The rims come in the format 8 x 20 inches on the front axle and measure a little wider 9 x 20 inches on the rear axle. They are equipped with tires in the format 245/35 R20 95Y and 275/30 R20 97Y and thus there is already a very successful style straight off the assembly line. They only wanted to take something away from the 8 series. In addition, there was a lowering of about 50 mm which ensures a completely new and even more dynamic look. Regardless of whether it is real or not, we could not withhold the G14 convertible from you. The 8 Series still has a set of black kidneys and fender inserts and the model name was omitted at the rear. The rest seems series!
