The BMW X7 (G07) and the BMW X5 (G05) have received a new M Performance top model. The X5 M50i and the X7 M50i! The petrol engine differs visually hardly from the X5 M50d or the X7 M50d with 400 PS strong B57D30 six-cylinder. The biggest change is under the bonnet. Here, the new V8 biturbo N63B44 from the M850i delivers 4,4 liters of displacement between 5.500 and 6.000 RPM stately 530 horsepower and a maximum torque of 750 Newtonmeter between 1.800 and 4.600 rpm. Enough power to accelerate the X5 M50i in 4,3 seconds to 100 km / h, almost a second faster than the M50d. With the X7 M50i BMW, the acceleration improves to 4,7 seconds.

After all, 7 seconds faster than the X50 M0,7d. Both vehicles have the all-wheel drive xDrive, which distributes the power fully variable. Nevertheless, both X5 and X7 remain tail-heavy. In combination with the electronically controlled M rear sports differential, the agility of the power SUVs is even increased again. The chassis of the X5 M50i G05 comes with specific kinematics and Elastokinematik and combines with at least 21 inch large rims. Optionally even 22-Zöller can be ordered. However, the M50i X5 can only briefly be described as the top model of the series, and soon the X5 M and X5 M Competition will certainly put the M-Performance model in the shade. By contrast, the X7 engine range is likely to be terminated for the time being, as an X7 M is currently not planned.
