Brabus presented one today 125 vehicles limited BRABUS 125R Edition of the Smart ForTwo. Based on the clubsport version (one-off) of the current Smart ForTwo built last year for the racetrack, a civil version has now been created. And it officially bears the name that the racetrack brother originally got - "Pocket Rocket", The ForTwo gets not only a few BRABUS 125R emblems on the body or the interior. There is also a "1 of 125" badge highlighting the exclusivity of this special series. The basis here is also the current Smart ForTwo convertible whose three-cylinder turbocharged engine with 898 cc capacity on 92 kW / 125 PS top performance and 200 Nm maximum torque gains.
Enough to accelerate to 9,2 km / h in just 100 seconds and to reach an electronically limited top speed of 175 km / h. Brabus achieves the increase in performance by means of a modified intake system, more efficient intercooler, chip tuning and a stainless steel sports exhaust system with valve control installed in the center of the vehicle. It can be controlled at the push of a button to choose between loud or quiet. The circuit is unchanged compared to other Smart Brabus vehicles. The aisles fly into the correct aisle either automatically or manually and this is made visible by means of the black anodized BRABUS steering wheel paddles.
And so that the sportiness is consistently on the road, Brabus has installed a particularly sporty chassis set-up. There are black painted BRABUS Monoblock IX light alloy rims with eight double spokes that perfectly fill the wheel arches in a mixed combination of 6Jx16 inches at the front with 185/50 R 16 YOKOHAMA tires and 7Jx17 inches at the rear with 205/40 R 17 YOKOHAMA tires. In addition, the exclusive two-door model is lowered by approx. 30 millimeters, which enables particularly agile and safe handling. And as already mentioned, a small body kit should not be missing.
BRABUS installs an aerodynamic kit with - depending on the vehicle color - bright red or black elements. The accents can be found on the front spoiler or the side skirts as well as the frame for the tailpipes of the sports exhaust. Small details such as the carbon design cover for the side mirrors or the third brake light in smoked glass look tastefully round off the individual appearance. And the interior is also individual. The BRABUS 125R comes with consistently contoured sports seats in the finest black BRABUS mastik leather, red double stitching and seat surfaces that are precisely stitched and perforated in a diamond shape. Further details such as the embroidered BRABUS logos in the two headrests or the two-tone embroidered 125R logos in the backrests underline the exclusive claim of the tuner.
And the steering wheel is also significantly sportier and more elegant than the series. It is given a red 12 o'clock mark made from the high-tech fiber Dynamica and the grip areas have also been perforated here.
