KW V3 leveling chassis: more driving comfort for the Vito & V-Class!

KW automotive, a leading manufacturer of suspensions, is bringing something new to the market: the V3 leveling suspension. The special thing about it is the perfect balance between sporty driving dynamics and driving comfort, and all this without the need for maximum lowering. The solution is aimed at drivers who value the advantage of a high-performance chassis without wanting to compromise the standard ground clearance. And the best part? The damper tuning can be individually adjusted, depending on whether you want more sporty ride comfort or more handling. The stainless steel spring strut design also makes it possible to subtly change the ground clearance of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class (W447) and the Vito and Vito Tourer models. The price? From €2.616.

The Mercedes-Benz V-Class (W447) is very popular with families and shuttle companies due to its generous amount of space. With the new KW V3 leveling chassis, owners of Vito and Vito Tourer models can now improve driving dynamics and driving comfort without having to forego the standard ground clearance. The result is superior handling at high speeds, even when changing lanes on the freeway, and sporty driving comfort even when driving slowly. Sascha Daucher, KW Brand Manager, reports enthusiastically about the response from the test drivers and passengers, who were surprised by the high level of travel comfort.

individual in damping & ground clearance

The new chassis can also be individually adjusted in terms of damping and ground clearance. This not only enables more direct handling, but also finer tuning of the damping during compression. In the Mercedes-Benz V-Class with rear-wheel drive, the KW V3 leveling suspension on the front axle can enable a lift of up to 5 millimeters and a lowering of up to 15 millimeters. The standard ground clearance can be increased or decreased by 10 millimeters on the rear axle. For all-wheel drive models, the new chassis enables stepless lowering between 10 and 30 millimeters. • Rebound Low Speed Bypass Valve: This adjustable valve has 16 levels of adjustment and affects handling and the way the suspension rebounds when compressed.
  • Low-speed compression valve: This valve can be reduced or enlarged in twelve click stages in order to individually adjust the damping during compression.
  • Adjustable plunge speed of the damper piston rod: With the compression stage, the steering behavior, pitching and rolling of the vehicle body can be adjusted.
  • Adjustable height with rear-wheel drive: In the V-Class (Vito and Vito Tourer) with rear-wheel drive, the chassis enables the front axle to be raised by up to 5 millimeters and lowered by up to 15 millimeters. The standard ground clearance can be increased or decreased by 10 millimeters on the rear axle.
  • Lowering for all-wheel drive models: In the all-wheel drive models, the height of the two driven axles can only be continuously lowered between 10 and 30 millimeters.
