Mitsuoka M55 Concept: Unique car hybrid goes into series production!

Mitsuoka, a Japanese Tuners and manufacturers for small series, has already come up with something very special in 2023: the Mitsuoka M55 Concept. The extraordinary vehicle combines the look of a classic one US muscle cars with the basis of a modern compact car. And this is exactly the vehicle that should actually be into production go after that wasn't actually planned. But clearly over 1.000 specific questions have now led to Mitsuoka wanting to build the muscle car dwarf. Under the creative shell of the M55 lies the Honda Civic the current generation in the five-door hatchback version.

Mitsuoka M55 Concept

The front of the M55 clearly quotes the Dodge Challenger, primarily through the Front section drawn far up with the characteristic double round headlights and the chrome-rimmed radiator grille.

The unique look continues at the rear, although the lights do not have the extreme width of the American model. A special detail is this stepped plastic cover over the rear window, a reminiscence of the tuning culture of the 70s. Inside, however, the M55 remains true to its Japanese origins. Despite the absence of the Honda logo on the steering wheel, the cockpit is largely similar to that of the Civic - included Instrument screen, touchscreen and climate control. However, they are new Seats with holey blue leather upholstery, which bear the model lettering, as well as that Mitsuoka brand logo on the headrests. The M55 is powered by the well-known 1,5-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine, which is already used in the series Civic.

The engine produces 182 hp and generates a maximum torque of 240 Newton meters, that about a six-speed manual transmission is transmitted to the front wheels. The combination of the design of the muscle car and the technology of the modern compact car makes the Mitsuoka M55 a unique vehicle. It proves that Mitsuoka is not only capable of realizing neoclassical conversions, but also of taking bold approaches to vehicle appearance. The M55 represents an exciting fusion of Japanese engineering and American design flair that is unparalleled in the automotive world. However, it is being sold NUR in Japan!
