Porsche apparently unhappy with the ACS from Singer Design!

Info from carscoops

Singer Vehicle Design has the spectacular 2021 Singer ACS Porsche 911 (964) Restomod All Terrain removed from its official website and also from its Facebook page after Porsche apparently found out about the large "Porsche" lettering complained on the privately commissioned car. Singer's ACS (All-terrain competition study) was released in January and quickly gained many fans around the world. But then, like the bike action from Carscoops discovered last week, the ACS mysteriously disappeared from the company's website as well as from the company's Facebook timeline.

Is it because of the side skirts?

According to Carscoops, the Porsche legal department was anything but thrilled that their name appeared on the jacked up 911 and apparently asked Singer to stop all published media about the car to withdraw, until the situation is resolved. Porsche was probably in an unfavorable situation. Because if you mess with a small company that has a huge worldwide following, that could quickly turn into bad PR for the German manufacturer. But Porsche apparently also had to protect its brand name, so asked Singer to take the car offline until the problems were resolved.

Carscoops spoke to a Porsche representative who, according to the website, made the following statement: "We are happy to have a growing community of Porsche enthusiasts. They help us to ensure that many old Porsche vehicles that were built decades ago remain on the road and are still in use. At the same time, however, we have a responsibility to our customers to ensure that the Porsche products we design and build can be identified clearly and easily. This can range from a single component or item of clothing with our name to entire vehicles. We do this by only allowing products that are developed or directly licensed by us to use the name Porsche to wear.“That is absolutely understandableas we think!

Carscoops has contacted Singer several times, according to the report, but has not yet received a response. Should the answer still come, then you want to note it in the article. Carscoops assumes, however, that the ACS will be photographed again as soon as the Porsche logo is removed (if Porsche actually objected to both the graphic and the "Porsche" lettering cast in the side sill). When it comes to the sills, it's probably not a five-minute job. Because the lettering under the doors is apparently part of the entire paneling and not just a sticker.

And the ACS is not the only Singer with visible Porsche logos. Lots of Retro XNUMX conversions of the company and also the breathtaking DLS have Porsche logos under the doors and on the rear. Singer describes them as "Porsches reimagined by Singer", because it restored and from Singer tuned Porsche vehicles are. And other companies that put Restomod vehicles on their feet also work in this way, or at least in a similar way. But as already mentioned, it is unclear whether the move by Porsche means a permanent stop for the affixing of the graphics on Singer vehicles, or whether it is only a matter of the “Porsche” lettering being cast into the side skirts and not using stickers were like other Singer models. If there is new information, we will update the article.
