With an engine more than three times the size of the original, this is the Subaru BRZ that many people desire. Subaru renewed the GT for the 2017 model year, including increasing the performance of the 2,0 four-cylinder boxer to 5 PS on 205 PS. Manufacturer Subaru promotes the GT as a cheap sports car for the pure passion and uses at the same time metaphors like driving pleasure in the production model. While the added horsepower is indeed a welcome improvement, some people still want more power in a passionate sports car for driving pleasure. Companies like Brill Steel Motorsport from Italy like to help these performance-hungry customers.
For example, look at this wild GT of the company with a tuned General Motors LS3 6,2-liter V8 under the hood. We already have it discovered in June this year and get some new information. An additional vote on the eight-cylinder engine drives the power on proud 580 PS and 912 Newtonmeter torque! In addition to the significant increase in engine power fits that too Rocket Bunny Widebody kit from Brill Steel Motorsport combined with a larger duck-tail spoiler. A vented bonnet, lowered suspension and 19-inch NTM wheels complete the overall picture. Unfortunately, neither this video nor the pages of Brill Steel offer a really good look under the hood. But at least one photo has appeared and surely more will come soon. However, the video below offers ample opportunity to hear the engine speed.
It sounds fantastic with a low growl at idle, which makes room for a rougher note as speed increases. The result of the vote is certainly exaggerated, but we suspect that the V8 offers enough muscle to support the caricature look. Screwing a V8 into the GT or its Toyota 86 Twin is not a new idea. In the year 2016 built the professional tuner Ryan Tuerck in collaboration with Gumout and Donut Media one Ferrari 4,5-liter V8 in the car. The installation, however, wasn't nearly as neat as this BRZ from Brill Steel's Auto. The Italian engine was so high that the hood simply no longer fit on it. It also had a little less power and “only” 562 hp.
During a promo film for Donut Media Tuerck drove the Ferrari-powered Toyota 86 in a ditch. In doing so, some of the specially made suspension components of the machine were bent. So our second story gives you some more insights on the V8 BRZ. More details are not available for the crazy V8-BRZ currently.
