Journey into the past - Toyota Supra 3000GT Concept

Another highlight at the current SEMA Auto Show (go until tomorrow) is the Toyota Supra 3000GT Concept. It's a debut with reverberations and at the same time a journey into the past. In the fashion world, the retro look and vintage style are the trend par excellence, just like in home furnishings and now even in isolated cases in house building. Instead of traveling back to the future, the team from the Toyota Customizing & Development department kidnaps us (TRD) into the past, more precisely into the year 1994.

The Toyota Supra 3000GT Concept

The Toyota Supra 3000GT Concept celebrated its debut at the SEMA AUTO Show in Las Vegas before 2 days, and of course we have to show it to you. The tuned version of the current model of the sporty coupe is the absolutely successful symbiosis of futuristic design and nostalgic bonds that unmistakably come from the 1994er Supra TRD3000GT. Responsible for the project is, as already mentioned, that team of Toyota Customizing & Development Departmentwho have created a sports car in retro design with a lot of expertise and the penchant for perfection. The Supra comes with a race-inspired look and makes the hearts of Supra fans beat faster.

With the look of a radiant winner

Aggressively, he looks ahead, the 3000GT Concept. The evil eye has this Supra thanks to its voluminous front spoiler. A redesigned bezel displays larger openings in the grid design as an air intake and there was plenty of carbon and a little gold as a color accent. And also the hood is new, in it sit conspicuous air openings that point in the middle with their tips on each other. These breakthroughs in the hood were taken almost identical to the 1994 predecessor and provide more fresh air. And then there's the fat widebody kit. Already in the frontal view impress the much wider fenders and the large side skirts are a real eye-catcher. They end in a widened wheel arch at the rear which takes up the design of the spacers at the front. In addition, the high-quality look also impresses here with plenty of carbon (Side skirts, doors, mirror caps, etc.). The crowning glory of the new aerodynamic parts is the attached rear spoiler. It is also based on the predecessor and a must on the new Supra. However, the spoiler would never come into its own without the completely redesigned rear apron with an insanely huge rear diffuser. Integrated into it is a fitting exhaust system from HKS with round tailpipes on the right and left. Finally, there was a full wrap in brushed silver with the aforementioned gold accents - A DREAM!

Optical and technical highlights

The coupe sits on an adjustable coilover suspension, manufactured by Tein Street Advance Z which can be individually adapted to any circumstance. The black spoked wheels in 19-inch-measuring format can be seen from Brembo's six-piston GT-S calipers for the front wheels. They are sitting on double 380-millimeter brake discs, which should delay the Supra extremely effective. At the rear, the brake system seems against series, but we are certainly not sure. And so that the forces are transferred perfectly to the track, Toyo Proxes R888R tires were raised.

Also inside was tuned at the Supra

The two Bride Xero CS racing seats in 3000GT Concept provide plenty of comfort for the driver and front passenger and enough lateral support. On top of that, a Pioneer sound system has been installed that turns the cockpit into an opera hall. And finally ... The optically and dynamically futuristic-nostalgic concept for the 2020 Supra is undoubtedly a success. It is to be expected that a number of components will also be offered as retrofit kits in the future. What is obviously missing - more propulsion! The engine from BMW already delivers 340 lively pens, but tuners have proven that after extensive modification, +800 hp and more are possible. That Toyota already has a more powerful variant in the planning stage can be seen from the words of one of the Toyota engineers. We are excited! If we receive information on further changes in a timely manner, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed about this if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
