"Custom-Bus" shows a camper based on a VW Crafter!

Previously the manufacturer Custom bus known for compact and stylish campers. The brand is now presenting a design camper van with a bathroom: the Custom bus Camper XL. Based on a VW Crafter, the Camper XL offers an unconventional and exquisite furniture design that is both flexible and visually appealing. The floor plan of the custom bus concept differs greatly from the standard floor plans. In the front area of the Crafter there is a seating area with a kitchen. The kitchenette is unusually positioned on the driver's side. The three-seater bench seat converts into a bed, making the front room more reminiscent of a Bulli than a large campervan. The highlight is at the rear: a spacious bathroom that extends across the entire width, with a central shower and a separate toilet on the side. The rear part of the vehicle can be separated by two folding doors.

The kitchenette has a gas cooker with two burners and a compressor fridge (75 l) with freezer. A sink sits next to the stove under a glass cover, while drawers below offer space for kitchen utensils. Additional storage space is available in a three-seater bench that has two drawers. A legless table can be used by rotating the front seats. In the evening, the bench seat can be transformed into a 1,90×1,30 m bed in just a few simple steps, which can even be extended to 2,10×1,55 m if desired. Two more sleeping places are created by an optional roof tent.

The rear of the Camper XL has a special highlight: a bathroom with a dry toilet and sink on the driver's side, a shower in the middle and storage compartments on the other side. The shower can even be used as an outdoor shower, for which 90 liters of fresh water are on board. A diesel auxiliary heater is also available for an extra charge, which heats the bathroom and also provides a hot water boiler. The rear area becomes a wellness lounge. And if you are looking for more active relaxation, you can stow sports equipment in the rear as you wish. Two gravel bikes can be hung loosely behind the seat. The through-loading option for surfboards or SUP boards is practical for bulky luggage.

for lovers of a simple, tidy look

The special feature of the custom bus Camper XL is the attention to detail and furniture construction. The campervan appeals to everyone who appreciates a simple, tidy look. Handleless cupboards and flaps, anthracite/wood tones, without frills and with clever details determine the fit-out. For example, the drawer for cutlery can also be pulled out to the side when the large table is set up at the front. The shower solution is just as well thought out: when it is not needed, a wooden panel covers the tub and the loading floor is completely flat. To shower, you simply remove the insert and stand in a lowered tub. A curtain all around ensures that the shower water drains properly.

If you want particularly elegant equipment, you can choose other options in addition to the basic price of over EUR 84.000. A real wood ship's deck floor made of oak is available for around EUR 2.560, the matching oak wall for EUR 1.980. The already mentioned roof tent costs a whopping 3.940 EUR. Other options are available for those who want the Crafter to be more robust and with an off-road look. There would be LED headlights, Underrun protection, Seikel chassis or Off-road AT tires with matching Rims. The vehicle shown also has the editionfoiling "Black-Zebra" for 2.600 EUR.

five seats and two beds

The custom bus Camper XL (2023) is based on a VW Crafter and has five seats and two sleeping places (with roof tent a total of 5). The dimensions are 5,99 m in length, 2,04 m in width and 2,59 m in height. Prices start at EUR 84.500. Fans of compact campervans know Custom-Bus as a brand that appreciates design and high-quality furniture. The campervans are characterized by a clear and reduced design language.

And finally ...

  • A bargain is not to be expected at Custom-Bus. However, design fans get exactly what they expect from a large camper van from the brand: exceptionally fine furniture, fine details and a special floor plan. Two people can sleep in the bus, other passengers can switch to the optional roof tent. The Crafter camper offers everything your heart desires: a fully-fledged kitchen and even a large bathroom in the rear.

Of course, that wasn't the end of it!
