Curtain up for the Willys Americar from the manufacturer Willys-Overland Motors! This is a vehicle built in 1941, the incarnation of a perfect one Restomod. So the classic dates from before the Second World War. The Americar was only built by Willys Overland for five years (from 1937 to 1942) and later the brand became the well-known manufacturer Jeep. The Americar was intended to be an all-rounder that was offered in a wide variety of body styles. It was available as a sedan, a coupé, a pickup and even as a station wagon. At first he was simply called Willys, later Americar. And this example is something very special. It is a pickup variant with the project name "Excessive" and it was developed by the tuner Avalon Body Shop built from Iowa (USA). The vehicle was completed in 2004 and was able to win various prizes at competitions such as the Ridler Great 8 or the Goodguy's Truck of the Year reap.

The project started in 1998 and according to the Avalon team, they invested an unbelievable 6 years of construction time and around 400.000 US dollars. The result is a pickup from the 40s as an absolute Restomod beauty. The pearl orange The body was staged with some chrome on the radiator grille and the headlight bezels and is only very slightly changed compared to the series. The focus was on a classic Cleaning. The body is made entirely of steel and underneath sits a custom-made tubular chassis. A narrower Currie 9-inch rear axle is also installed and the chassis uses components with thread adjustment from Aldan American Eagle and Art Morrison. The Excessive makes contact with the road via four Mickey Thompson tires with elegant chrome rims in the format 18 and 20 inches and behind them are each Disc brakes from the Wilwood brand.

And under the hood? There sits a 502ci (8,2 liter) Ram Jet V8 with an output of 510 hp and the engine is coupled to a 3-speed automatic transmission. The eighth is also audible via a specially made sports exhaust system. And inside? There is a cabin with black leather and suede, there is some chrome and a painted dashboard.
