TECHNO-CLASSICA recently opened its doors in Essen for the 33rd time from April 12th to 16th, 2023. And the bottom line is that interest in automobiles remains strong. The event was more appealing and international than ever before. More than 2.700 classic vehicles with 2, 3, 4 or more wheels were presented. The international classic car scene focused on over 1.100 exhibitors, over 200 club presentations and seven official manufacturer presentations. There was something to suit all tastes and budgets, from pre-1900's to youngtimers from 2000's and beyond. Particular attention was paid to various special exhibitions celebrating anniversaries such as 125 years of Renault, 100 years of MG, 70 years of Chevrolet Corvette, 60 years of Lamborghini, Mercedes 600 and Porsche 911.
Techno Classica 2023
A Spanish classic car, a 102 Pegaso Z-1951 GT Berlinetta Enasa, won the contest for the most beautiful classic car in the Concours d'Elegance. The 33rd Techno-Classica 2023 recorded a constant number of visitors and a very positive business development, which confirms the unbroken interest in automobiles. The event also underlined the importance of the cultural heritage of the automobile and the sustained engagement with its history, even in times of crisis. This was reflected in several symposia dealing with topics such as e-fuels, sustainability and restoration, as well as the possibility of continuing to drive classic automobiles in the future. Association representatives emphasized that the use of classic vehicles only 0,002% of the climate-relevant precursor gases in the atmosphere.
