Did you know that the automotive builder and StanceWorks Co-founder Mike Burroughs away from crazy boxes like that 800 hp Ford Model A pickup und natürlich "Rusty Slammington" Auch elegant tuning got it right? The ultimate proof of this is this refined BMW E9 2800CS Coupe from 1971 in top condition. The classic is, so to speak, the stark opposite of the one linked at the beginning Rat-Look BMW E28 5 Series Race Car and with a lot of understatement. In general, an E9 is likely to be a dream car for countless BMW enthusiasts and a converted specimen like this will certainly earn critical looks at first. Tuning on an E9? And then also with an Airride air suspension? Can you do that? We are of the opinion "Mon GOT TO and the“Even! Because what Mike Burroughs has created in cooperation with Stanceworks is an absolute dream on wheels.

The vehicle has been restored and is therefore in top condition with only a few changes to the body. The most striking feature is definitely the BMW E3 / E9 CSL Street Look front apron with the two distinctive round air openings. The two main tuning modifications are much more striking. On the one hand the extreme lowering and on the other hand the beautiful wheelset. Regarding the lowering, they used a custom-made Airride air suspension from Air Lift Performance, which was built with additional McPherson parts and some welding and cutting work in the E9. Since then, the classic has dived towards the street at the push of a button. Cool! And then there is the wheel set mentioned. Here the choice fell on rims from the shelf of HRE Performance wheels. It is specifically the Type 501 from the so-called Vintage series from HRE that we already have on one M4 coupe or one Mini Cooper S have seen. 3rd

18 inches is pretty big for a 2800CS

The multi-part forged rims in 18 inch format are installed and as a special highlight they have a highly polished rim base. And if you look closely you will see that the wheelset for the price of a small car sits in the wheel arch with millimeter precision, which speaks for the exact coordination of chassis, vehicle and wheels. Incidentally, the cabin is almost completely standard. Only Nardi decorative strips were used as a skilful accent to the dark blue leather interior and nothing more. The result is a beautiful vehicle that retains the style of a real classic and could even be used as a daily driver. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether this is of course appropriate.
