Australia and New Zealand are becoming increasingly popular when it comes to launching limited special editions of sporty models. After the British sports car manufacturer Lotus has already launched the Elise Bathurst Edition exclusively for Australia, Mercedes-Benz is now following with a special model limited to 63 pieces called the C 63 S Aero Edition 63, which can be ordered both in Australia and New Zealand and probably also in Europe and elsewhere in the world should cause a sensation.

Aerodynamic package and AMG parts

The special standard equipment of this edition includes an AMG performance rear spoiler, which is entirely made of carbon, a front spoiler lip developed exclusively for this model, an aerodynamically optimized rear diffuser and completely redesigned side air inlets, which are closed to improve air resistance. In addition, the wide side skirts with door sills made of black carbon immediately catch the eye, and the housings of the two exterior mirrors are made of the same light and very stable material. Further highlights are the standard ceramic brakes with six-piston brake calipers and 402mm brake disc diameter and the golden painted brake calipers with "AMG Carbon Ceramic" written in large letters. Last but not least, the special edition has matt black double-spoke rims from AMG, which have a diameter of 19 inches on the front axle and a diameter of 20 inches on the rear axle.

Inside there is carbon in abundance.

The carbon theme is continued in the interior, as the entire center console is made of carbon fibers and therefore has a very sporty touch, as does the AMG performance steering wheel, which is flattened below and also carries a carbon steering wheel rim. All models in this special edition are also equipped with AMG performance seats, which are covered with nappa leather in magma gray. As a special splash of color, yellow decorative strips are attached to the seats, which are intended to emphasize the sporty look of the Stuttgart racing car once again.

Nothing has been changed in terms of engine technology

With so much sportiness it is of course clear that the most powerful engine that is allowed to do its job in the current C-Class is used. The four-liter V8 biturbo gasoline engine develops 510 hp and an incredible 700 Newton meters of maximum torque, which almost causes the rear tires to burst, as the car only has conventional rear-wheel drive and not all-wheel drive like the Audi RS4 Avant. Power is transmitted via the 9-speed automatic transmission called AMG Speedshift. A manual transmission is unfortunately not available for money and good words, and the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km / h. But there are a lot of tuning forges that unlock the AMG so that it can utilize its full performance potential and is not slowed down at 250 km / h.

for 63 lucky guys from down under

With the strictly limited special series, which is only intended for Oceania, it will be very difficult to get one anywhere in Europe, but there would also be enough Mercedes fans in this country who would eagerly wait for such a limited edition. The price is 188.600 AUD, which is equivalent to around 118.000 euros. This keeps the surcharge for the fully equipped AMG within limits, since even a conventional Mercedes-AMG C 63 S can quickly break the 100.000-euro barrier if you select a few extras from the long list of surcharges. If we receive timely information on further details of the limited edition, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
