restomodding is not always synonymous with chrome and high gloss. There are many different tuning styles that can be used with this type of restoration of a classic vehicle. Things like widebody kits or powerful spoilers and wings are rarely found in restomods. But this one Mustang, which we present to you today, does away with clichés and stereotypical ideas of a restomod project and interprets the tuning of a classic one US cars New. The vehicle is currently on the auction platform Bring a trailer listed, and the highest bid is currently (as of 21.12.2022/32.000/XNUMX) only $XNUMX.

Dragster meets NASCAR racer!

The owner of the one-of-a-kind Mustang didn't follow convention and created his own dream. For this purpose, components from various vehicles were installed, resulting in a curious potpourri under the classic shell. The car's front and rear frames are roughly taken from a 2020 Mustang GT350, making the vehicle significantly wider than an original '65. The car also got a new front suspension made up of custom-made "A" links and adjustable ones thread springs by Penske. Meanwhile, the rear suspension was carried over from the Mustang GT350 model year 2020. Thus, the vehicle has a rear independent wheel suspension, which is also equipped with Penske coil springs.

A huge one front spoiler as well as gigantic fender flares in full-metal style cause a stir and make the project vehicle unique. It also has a carbon bonnet and a vent on the trunk lid. Specially made custom taillights and a central dual-pipe exhaust were also installed at the rear. The front is adorned with a huge Ford lettering, which comes from a pickup truck. The revised vehicle rolls on Yokohama Advan tires that are all in 315/30 ZR18 format. The tires were mounted on 18-inch CCW brand rims, which suit the extraordinary project well with their concave star design and black finish.

The interior is spartan!

As you can already imagine, there is a racing atmosphere in the cockpit. Behind the carbon fiberRacing bucket seats by Status Racing became a big one Roll cage installed to increase body rigidity. Pilot and co-pilot will join Harness belts strapped in place and a MoTec digital display shows the driver all important telemetry data. Not to forget, of course, the flattened Sport steering wheel from Sparco, which gives the driver the feeling of sitting in a racing car.

A 5-liter Coyote V8 provides powerful propulsion!

The 5-litre, petrol-powered eight-seater has been further optimized for higher performance. The result was about 500 hp! Thus, the car should achieve the driving performance of a super sports car. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a ten-speed automatic transmission.

Our conclusion:

  • An extraordinary vehicle from the year 1965, proving that not every Mustang needs to be highly polished and covered in chrome. We are enthusiastic about so much individuality.
