Comeback of the Ferrari 250 GTO? Ares Design says YES!

Do you know the most expensive car in the world? It's not a Bugatti Chiron, not a Rolls Royce and not a Bentley. It is a Ferrari 250 GTO Berlinetta from 1962! It was one for a while Ferrari 335 Sport Scaglietti from 1957 which changed hands in 2016 for 32.075.200 euros and now the GTO. It had already come under the hammer at the Bonhams auction house in Monterey, California in 2014 and achieved a good 28,4 million euros at the time. And last year the 250 GTO in Pebble Beach achieved a staggering 41,6 million euros. That's just 30 Mercedes 300 SL gullwing! Reason enough for the tuner Ares Design to think about a modern Ferrari 250 GTO. The previous result is already evident in promising virtual images (Ares describes them as "work in progress" pictures).

Incidentally, the basis for the conversion is the acid Ferrari 812 Superfast. However, he gets a completely new body garment missed that is to remember the look of the legendary 250 GTO. And it does too! The pointed headlights disappear and are replaced by retro-design pendants. And the new bumper with the striking three air openings and the oval grille should be based on the GTO. The side part is staged by big gills in the fenders and also the rear is pretty GTO. Here it is especially the superimposed tail lights and the striking side walls with large air vents and the tank lid to remember the legendary classic.

The modern 250 GTO is said to be limited to less than ten vehicles and cost at least 1 million euros. The Ares GTO should not be a copy of the 250 GTO but a modern interpretation. Dany Bahar mentions that they are still working on the final design, but that major changes are no longer to be expected. If we receive more information, pictures or even the official presentation of the ARES Design 250 GTO in a timely manner, there is of course an update for this report.
