The former BMW tuner Manhart Performance As is well known, not only BMW can do. For years they have also been poaching in the repertoire of other manufacturers and they already have the tuning favorite, the VW Golf GTi, pre-buttoned. Back then as the MK7 and now the new one MK8. And the changes are extremely good for the long-running favorite. With the change to the current generation of models, VW has definitely dared to take a step in terms of design, which, as it is, did not necessarily only meet with the ultimate approval of the fans. In particular, the front view with the rather extravagantly drawn headlights in the fenders has received a lot of criticism. But we like them, and if you look at the street scene, sales seem to be taking off slowly but surely. Why not, we think the eight is pretty handsome and especially the top models GTI, GTE, GTD and of course the brand new one R convince.

And since the tuning sector is slowly but surely getting to grips with the new model, an upgrade from Manhart Performance should of course not be missing. With a targeted, subsequent refinement and customization, they created a very special athlete. The specialist based in Wuppertal has a normal GTI in the direction of "Club Sport 45“Trimmed.

With a few successful optical adjustments that give the GTi a very harmonious and dynamic appearance more power. But let's stick with the optics. The highlight are of course those new wheels in combination with an Lowering by means of a sentence H&R sport springs. They make sure that the body is around 40 millimeters is lowered.

As a filigree detail, Manhart installed one at the rear of the GTi in-house diffuser and in addition, the tuner equipped the black body with subtle red trim. But the real highlight is under the hood. Because the Wolfsburg has also received an upgrade in terms of performance. As is well known, the new GTI of the eighth model generation performs 245 PS and 370 Nm ex works.

now with 290 hp and 425 Nm

The Manhart team gets out of the two-liter turbo four-cylinder by means of an increase in performance with the help of the in-house MHtronik module now stately 290 PS and 425 Nm.
