First they have to dimension and contour of the wheel are calculated to ensure they fit both in the compressor housing and with the rest of the turbocharger, particularly the exhaust wave, harmonize. Many suppliers often choose a wheel from their range that is available quickly or is particularly large, but neglect the relationship to the exhaust side and the resulting performance.
