Striking, sporty design and high-quality standard equipment - the new Renault Megane RS Ultime marks the spectacular conclusion behind the history of the Megane RS and Renault Sport. The special series, limited to 1.976 units, will replace the Megane RS and Megane RS Trophy from spring 2023 and is the culmination of a three-generation model career that began in 2003.
Renault Megane RS Ultimate
The Megane RS Ultime is the last model with the Renault sports logo. Future sports models from the Renault Group will bear the traditional Alpine name. The Megane RS Ultime is characterized by graphic elements inspired by the new Renault logo on the roof, bonnet, rear bumper, doors and fenders. Its matt black look harmonises with the four available body colors black-pearl-black, mother-of-pearl white, Sirius yellow and tonic orange. Another detail: on the right-hand side of the vehicle, the year Renault Sport was founded, 1976, is discreetly engraved in the striping. With the limitation of the special series to 1.976 vehicles, Renault also takes account of the starting point of a formative era in the company's history.
EXTENDED FENDER, MANY DETAILS IN BLACK
The front fenders, which are 60 millimeters wider and 45 millimeters wider than the standard version, ensure a muscular appearance. There are also many details in black, such as logos, door handles, rear diffuser and window frames as well as wheels with wheel nuts. Another exclusive feature is the "Ultime" lettering on the front bumper in RS design. The dynamic appearance is also characterized by side air outlets and the RS Vision auxiliary headlights in checkered flag design. The centrally positioned exhaust, the shark antenna, roof spoiler and rear diffuser round off the sporty look.
SPORTY NOTE IN THE INTERIOR
The standard equipment in the interior includes Recaro sports seats with black Alcantara upholstery and an embroidered RS monogram. The card of the Keycard Handsfree entry and start system takes on the diamond pattern of the body striping. Other specific details of the Megane RS Ultime include exclusive door sills and a plaque signed by Laurent Hurgon on the center console. The Renault Group driver and development expert has fine-tuned the Megane RS's set-up throughout his career and currently holds the class records at the Nürburgring, Suzuka and Spa-Francorchamps.
The Megane takes over from the Megane RS and Megane RS Trophy RS Ultime the EASY LINK infotainment system with 9,3-inch touchscreen, navigation and Bose hi-fi system. There is also the digital 10-inch instrument cluster, the RS monitor for displaying important engine and driving parameters, as well as the adaptive cruise control and the 360° parking aid.
POWERFUL ENGINE AND SEMI-SLICK TIRES
As a drive for Megane RS Ultimate The turbo engine known from the Megane RS and Megane RS Trophy with 300 hp and 420 Nm of torque is used. The four-cylinder combined with the 6-speed dual-clutch transmission accelerates the special model from 5,7 to 100 km/h in just 007 seconds. Bridgestone Potenza S19 semi-slick tires, Fuji Light 4-inch wheels, Brembo composite brake discs with red calipers and XNUMXCONTROL dynamic all-wheel steering complete the standard dynamic package.
