With 570 PS & 540 NM torque, the eight-cylinder V mid-engine in the Ferrari 458 Italia was probably the last real vacuum cleaner that the Italians installed. The turbo era was finally ushered in at Ferrari and so the successor 488 GTB came with a turbo engine. We have now received a few pictures of a Ferrari 458 Italia prototype that has installed the huge 6262 cm³ V12 engine of the LaFerrari. As far as we know, only the 588 PS & 700 NM strong gasoline engine is installed and not the 120 PS & 270 NM electric drive. In other words, the total output is not 963 PS & 900 NM torque as in the LaFerrari but much less. This 458 is still stronger than the normal 458 and this should certainly also be noticeable in the performance.
In the interior there is a lot of Alcantara and carbon and if you look closely, the center console got some other switches & buttons like the 458 series. But apart from the engine conversion, we are not aware of any further details about this prototype so we can tell you at this point with the pictures let alone. 🙂 If we do get a few details about further changes, there is of course an update for this post. You will be informed about the update if you have ours Feed subscribe to. We hope you enjoy watching.
