SEAT has at the beginning of the year (official launch on the 22. February) decided the models with the nickname Cupra to establish it on the market as its own brand. Since then, all activities in motorsport have been continued under Cupra and so the Cupra TCR & Cupra E-TCR is the first racing car without the SEAT term. There is also a separate logo that will replace the Seat logos on the vehicles in the future. At the end of the year, the Cupra Ateca and the Cupra Leon will be found under the new name in road traffic. This means that particularly sporty models are clearly delimited more than BMW does with the suffix “M”, Audi with “RS” or Mercedes with “AMG”. As a mid-range SUV with 300 PS (221 kW) two-liter turbo gasoline engine and DSG from 45.000 euros, the Ateca Cupra will dare to try it out and should account for up to 15% of total Ateca sales.
You can buy a Cupra from any SEAT dealer and with a high probability, they will soon be able to attach the new logo to the dealerships in a clearly visible manner. Also planned is a separation of the sales areas so that one can set oneself apart from the conventional seats. Incidentally, the Cupra logo is supposed to show a bull's head with horns and shines in a subtle copper tone. This marketing strategy also has the PSA Group (Peugeot, Citroen) in the year 2014 with the acronym DS Automobiles already daring, but to this day they have only achieved moderate success. In any case, we cannot find a modified DS3, DS4, DS5 etc. in over 15.000 vehicles on tuningblog.eu.
